I know people who know people who know people (yeah, I have some great, great friends) and I’m throwing this out there just to see what the early reaction is.

You know how they are working on the “re-branding” of everything to do with the HOTH, right? Maybe new colours, maybe a new logo, maybe all kinds of things different for the 2015-16 season.

Well, how about this:

Black and gold.

Now, I’m not suggesting it’s a done deal and a lot of different people and companies are coming up with a lot of different looks and styles but I was told on the weekend that black and gold is definitely something being considered.

This is beyond stupid, if you ask me. Red and white is totally fine if they're going to stick with Raptors.

Black and Gold: Go with trendy colours to fit the 90's-trendy name? What could go wrong?

Dont really get it. Why black and gold? If anything they should go back to the purple and white VC days jersey. Never liked the red personally.

I say we just bite the bullet and call ourselves the Toronto Drakes. Then in 2 years when no one cares who Drake is any more we change our logo to a dragon. Win, win.

On a serious note, every team in this city is blue and white and it's the color scheme of our damn municipal flag. Seems like a no-brainer what we should have as our colors.

The alternate to a grey is the NBA mandatory black with white letters and blue piping around the letters sleeves ala Magic... or some similar variation.

I guess you cant be gangsta unless you have a black uni alternate.

For those of my friends on this board internationally that may not get the obvious appeal ... google... Toronto Maple Leafs, Toronto Blue Jays, Toronto Marlies, Toronto Argonauts, Toronto Flag. It should become obvious.

Drake's colours appear to be black and gold.

His personal logo appears to be an Owl.

Owls are birds of prey.

Birds of Prey are also known as.... Raptors.
