Mine:
- Start and finish Focus T25 (10-week program)
- Start and finish P90X (90-day program)
- Be in the best shape of my life by August 2014

The rest of what I hope to accomplish in 2014 is out of my hands. I can just keep striving and wait for my opportunity to improve my lot in life.

What about you guys?

Respect dude..... It's one thing to have those goals as a teen but you're approaching 30 and still itching to get in better shape. Nice.

I know a ton of 25-35 year old fatties who caved into the convenient fast food lifestyle. Fat drunk neegas.

My resolution is to just be a better person and take care of anything I can in the moment. Learn to be better at delayed gratification and set my self up for the long long term financially.

This was a pretty rough year. I lost my career due to budget cuts (I taught PE) and made several bad personal decisions. I just want to get another full time teaching job, and get back to living a better life. Pay down some debts, too.

Same as most people:

- Eat better and get in shape. I was vegan and gluten free for two months in the summer/fall, so I'm going to do that again.

- Give up porn/jacking it, or at least lessening both.

- The only thing I really will be upset about if I don't do is move and pursue my career.
Diet is much easier to control than jacking off/porn for me personally.

Which one do you find easier to control?

Honestly, this past year was pretty bad for me. Just getting through 2014 without suiciding would enough for me.

- Financially and socially. I have a certain amount of income I want coming in per week. To find a way to do it.. that's the journey.

Also, by learning to budget I'll have a chance to donate lotsa cash to orphanages, A close friend of mine is a much happier person than me and she says it's partially due to focusing on others/volunteering and loving other humans more than herself. It's been a minute since I've truly loved someone.. and I'd like to experience that. Part of me wants a son or a daughter but I'm nowhere developed enough or robust enough to support that. Or a worthwhile wifey type. But I'm very very cynical. Experiences have been lousy so far. But that's not necessarily the other person's fault.

Socially I want to expand my circle to incorporate people who will challenge me.. learn from. I literally come to ISH and digest what the elders have to say as if they were oracles. Not even shitting u. My surroundings have been completely detrimental to foster masculine growth. It's been peaceful and boring. Too peaceful and boring. The price to pay for having chosen a wrong major.. sigh.

Also want to bring value to peoples lives someway somehow. I can always make people laugh and think and love and play... but now I want to bring a new dimension. Take them on adventures and stuff.

Skill-wise.. probably up the capacity to write. Could use motivation on that.

- Really really control/restrain the info that goes into mah brain. There's been eons of garbage from being in a social circle of pretend gangsta and fairly hot girls this past year that fukkin thwarts your thinking. It's tough to alternate between the being fake and real... I needa merge them someway somehow.
Going to set up a customized online newspaper to bring awareness of the world in a way tahts... reasonably unbiased.

- Become as strong as fukking possible in the span of a year. That means H.A.R.D.

- Get the inner scoop on how the world REALLY works. Rothschilds, Rockefellers, management systems, leadership, mind corporations, results-oriented thinking stories/myths/legends, criminal profiles,, game theory, peoples' psychology, common sense, using ethos/pathos/logos to be persuasive, integrity, parallels with animals, history. Foundation is biology and math. That's what I've studied for years.. but my comprehension of reality is pre-school dip in the pond at best. The brain is still spongy at 23. Better put that to use.

- Get my parents on a health regime that'll have them feeling better, sharper, and aging more gracefully.

- Get my sister constantly entertained and aware of what's going on in the world around so that when the burden of medschool comes she's not going to turn into a dry robot spitting out factual things and losing her soul lol.

- Be a good friend to young men and older men. They're going through hell right now with shitty policies that demonize them. It's not right. I don't sense authentic happiness or confidence and purpose in my fellow men/brothers. They deserve it. They have every right to have life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness.

Learn Hindi to at least an intermediate level.
Get a personal trainer. My normal workout routine just isn't cutting it at this point.
Make a low budget film and get it distributed. From what I've seen, as long as it has nudity and violence, someone will distribute it.

To be honest, I'm not even out of shape. I just don't have the type of body I'd like. Very little muscle tone, but I'm sure it's much more than 99.9% of the world's population. No fat at all.
I also have a tendency to start a workout program and give up a few weeks into it, which is why I mentioned the 2 workout programs I want to start and actually finish.

That won't be me. I'll just keep exercising from home.
When I used to go to the gym a lot (circa 2009), I did notice people joining early on in the year, packing the gym and then suddenly disappearing a few weeks later.

I hate the first few months of the year because of that. About Feb 14 is when people start to give up... most of the time before that.

What about you guys?

I did P90X earlier in 2013, and got pretty good results but became bored with the repetitiveness of the workouts and Tony's chatter. I even like Tony but I had all of his corny jokes memorized. Did you torrent P90X? If you did, I would recommend also getting P90X2 and using that version of yoga. I love yoga, but the original version is 90 minutes, and too much vinyasa movement for my liking. It's like 50 straight minutes of vinyasa then 40 min of poses. The P90X2 yoga is 30 min shorter and a better flow in my opinion.

Anyway, I'm rambling. Good luck with it! Also, what is T-25?

I've done ~1 month of P90X before. Saw small changes, but didn't stick with it.
Tony's a good guy, but yeah, even a month into it, I had to mute his speaking just because the jokes got to be too much.
I actually bought the P90X a couple years back. Never done it all the way through.
As for the Yoga X, it was always a problem for me since I'm pressed for time. I think I will have to torrent the Yoga X 2.

As for Focus T25, it's a workout program that just came out a few short months ago. It's from the creators of the P90X, but with a different host named Shaun T. If you know about the Insanity workout program, then you'll know who Shaun T is.
T25 is 25 minutes/workout, 6 days/week. It's about 10 weeks long, btw. It's pretty fun, but very, very tiring. I'm going to give it 100% when I start it tomorrow. Middle of the week FTW. :oldlol:

Hey bro, long time no talk! Did you know we were (maybe still are) FB friends? Weird :crazysam:

Anyway, I was also teaching last year at a middle school in Denver, and lost my job as well. Or rather, "due to budget cuts, the position was eliminated"... I had an offer in the same district but a different school and turned them to move to South Korea and teach!

Seriously man, you should look into it. They paid my flight from Denver -> SF -> Seoul, and are paying for my apartment. There are position all over the country, I'm currently in Seoul, about 10min from Gangnam, one of the richest areas in the whole city. I make 2,200,000 KRW a month, which is about $2,100... but low taxes, a pension plan, health insurance, year end bonuses, and no rent! I only pay for food, transportation, and utilities/cell phone, all of which are cheaper than home. Seriously such a great deal, easy to save or pay off debt here, like $750-1000 a month. Easy and relatively cheap travel to the rest of Asia... fantastic. This time next year I'll be backpacking through Thailand, Cambodia, Vietnam, Laos, and hopefully Indonesia, Malaysia, and the Phillipines. Sooooo sick!

I also considered Japan and China, but many Asian countries are hiring, and with you credentials you should be able to get a very good and high paying position really anywhere in Asia.

Think about it. It's a long and kind of complicated process, but well worth it if you're feeling adventurous. You can teach, travel, and earn some decent money! PM if you have questions, bro!

Yeah, T-25 doesn't sound like my kind of thing. Stick with P90X and you'll see some good results around day 50. I remember one day just looking in the mirror and being like "damn, when did this happen?". It sneaks up on you in a good way. My upper back and shoulders got jacked from those pull ups. Make sure you take progress pics too!

Haven't made a resolution in years but I think it is a really good idea. New Year's is my favorite holiday because it is a universal time of self-evaluation and hope that you can improve yourself. It is a really healthy mental exercise imo.

I think I will make a list in hear, bookmark it, and bump next year to see if I followed through. My list:

1. Learn linear algebra and differential equations - valuable skills and needed for potential grad school applications
2. Date more - I wasted a lot of time this year buried in my own head. It's time for me to open myself up more to the emotional roller coaster that is dating.
3. Write a novel or book of short stories - Always a dream of mine but it is something I've lost touch with. I'd like to regain the more artistic side of my mind that I've let die off a bit.
4. Save 15% of my take home pay - I've had my just-got-my-first-taste-of-real-money-so-I'm-going-to-waste-a-lot phase out of the way and it's time to build a foundation for myself

Dont get a gf, just stop living in fear and talk to girls. Messing around with a couple chicks helped learn more about girls than dating. Unless you have no morals and are comfortable with cheating lol

Linear algebra is pretty easy to learn, cant speak on diff equations yet but that's in my next semester or later. I'd even go as far a saying calc1 was a bit mire difficult than lin algebra.

What did u study?

Economics. I graduated already but my program didn't really get into linear much other than some simple programming.
