I remember watching a game last year where the Mavericks were playing the Knicks. There was a play where Carter got blocked by a help defender (I think it was Shumpert or Felton...) and Chandler started yelling and talking smack. Carter smiled/laughed at him and asked Chandler "What did you do ? What did you do ?"... Chandler didn't saying anything back. Knicks and Mavs fans might remember what I'm talking about.

Looks like Wall was showing up Jose Calderon who fell on the ground and not VC.

Which play is that ? Calderon didn't fall to the ground and Wall didn't look at him.

Both had more talent than what they lived up to.

T-mac reached a peak that Carter didn't reach though.

And no, Carter didn't get out of the first round, his team did. This is a team sport and his team got out of the first round because they were a better team than their opponent.

Forget trying to intimidate Vince. My question is why did Wall vigorously bump his chest after a freaking layup? He's acting like that shot won them the game. And then he's trying to fluster a 15 year veteran?:oldlol:

Nah, neither will be good enough to create such a "rivalry" and they are too close in age. I really think people overlook the age factor to help aid the fire. You don't want their peaks to crossover, otherwise there will be clear evidence to support one over the other.

Will be Durant vs Wiggins or Parker.

It's not about being good enough to create a rivalry, it's about not being Intresting enough to get the media backing behind it. I swear 50% of the Lebron vs Kobe crap we see, was the result of the media comparing Lebron to Kobe from the moment he stepped on the court....Making all their battles nationally televised.... Dedicated entire hours on espn to the debate.

The rivalry between Lebron and Kobe is one of the most media manufactured thing I've seen in the history of sports. I mean how do two players, with a big age gap, different positions, completley different games, and who've never met in the playoffs generate that kind of rivalry. This was never organic like Wilt vs Russell, or Magic vs Bird, it was a narrative pushed by the media the media the moment Lebron was drafted.

When? When Lebron entered the league? He wasn't the best player. Kobe wasn't the best player In 04

Same for 05,06 and 07.

The closest they ever were to the best two players in the league was 2008-2010, when Wade was debatable against both of them.

They were both heirs to the throne that panned out. The faces of the league. How about that story? It's just sports. No strict definition or pitch perfect story is necessary. Kobe/LeBron is now LeBron/Durant anyway and seems to fit your parameters better. :confusedshrug:

I love VC's reaction in that .gif, but I bet that wasn't John Wall trying to intimidate VC. I didn't watch the game, but based purely on how that .gif plays out, I'm sure it was one of those heat-of-the-moment, "I-made-a-spinning-layup-passed-two-defenders" hyped up gesture.
I'm sure VC was laughing just because he was thinking, "Cool, bro. I would've dunked that shit at your age."
