This is like, what, the 500th game winner hes made as a Brooklyn Net.
His stats are a bit low, but he single handedly won many nets game, throughout his 2 year tenure.
This guy is the most clutchest player in the league atm
The Nets have 11 wins this year. He is clutch as **** but the other 47 minutes do count.

Hitting game winners on one of the worst teams in the the NBA.....and an average team last year....is not what you want out of 120 million dollars+ whatever hes costing in luxury taxes.

You guys arent geting what im trying to say
The nets suck, ofc we know that. Not saying JJ is a superstar either.
But if it wasnt for this guy, the nets would have 3 wins.
JJ has hit soo many game winners, both with the hawks and the nets
In terms of game winners, Joe Johnson>Kobe>Melo>LeBron>Durant

Joe Johnson is kinda like what Hedo Turkoglu was for the Magic a few years ago. Way overpaid, but clutch. Too bad we suck.
That said, I've said it before. People hate on Joe, but he's actually our most consistent player. It's not saying much, but had to be said.

But if it wasnt for this guy, the nets would have 3 wins.
And having 11 instead makes them what?
What is Joe actually doing for the Nets that means anything?

The difference is, if they had 3, the team would have probably started a brawl during one of their practice facilities, kg would have shot jason kidd in the head, and who knows what paul pierce would have done, probably killed dwill for shitting so much.
Joe is really the only reason why this nets team is afloat.

If the Nets win the atlantic and get the fourth seed these clutch moments by Joe will prove to be invaluable.

Being 11th in a conference where the .500 Raptors are 4th isnt being afloat. Its being bitten by a zombie and not having turned yet.
Its...that guy in every zombie movie/show who got bit but is pretending it didnt happen for a while.
Sure...hes up and about. But hes still dead.
Thats the Nets. A soon to be zombie who wont just accept it and shoot itself in the head.

Not saying JJ is a superstar either.
Then he isn't worth his contract. He has one of the biggest contracts in the NBA and that kind of money is only justified for the best players in the NBA.
It's A VC3!!!
01-02-2014, 11:58 PM
never understand the contract talk. he wasn't worth his money at his peak, let alone now. yet idiots keep mentioning it like it's a sin he took that money. yes, he's not worth that money but frankly, why do any of you give a shit? he's a solid 15 ppg at the age of 32 and whether he's paid 2 million or 20 million is fine by me.
Kblaze8855

Nobody said its a sin. Every person on earth who didnt offer it to him(and them too 20 minutes later) said its a bad deal.
Why do you care about people being honest about a frankly astounding contract?

The four seed at 49 wins is average?
What is .500? Below average?
Not worth his contract but the dude has been extremely clutch when given the ball with the game on the line. The thunder knew. Ibaka was on him

No one is blaming Joe Johnson for his contract. Literally no one, not even Joe, thought he was worth that much but he aint gonna turn it down if it's offered. No one thinks Joe isn't living up to his contract because no one understood why he got it in the first place.

joe is not worth his contract. i'll be the first to say it. he wasn't worth it at 25ppg nor is he worth it now. also, nobody expects him to put up superstar numbers. nets coaches, management nor fans expect it. heck, even joe himself doesn't expect it.

Depends....at a glance the Nets were maybe the 13th best team in the NBA last year. And got beat by a Bulls team with no Rose and Deng and Kirk in and out of the lineup.
So yes....average.
Totally non noteworthy team.

record wise they were the 9th best team in the league last season. but yeah, their loss to the bulls was inexcusable.

also, the nets were game 4 away from winning 4-2. had they won game 4 they would've won the series 4-2. not that good of a way to look at it but whatever, i guess.

Im not gonna bother explaining why I feel some teams with a worse record were better. I think you can glance and work that out on your own.

Joe Johnson is good and underrated, but he's definitely not worth his contract. 6 years for 120 million? Thats Kobe Bryant money right there and he's nowhere near Kobe's production

But he sucks for the majority of the rest of the games.. And no hes not worth $120m...

You're actually right, he just came off a pathetic playoff series and was a FA. The stupid hawks were only bidding against themselves and gave him the max:roll:

This can't be emphasized enough. We'd be so screwed if we still had joe, thank god that the nets organization are apparently hawks fans and took him off of us and even gave us picks to get us going  :applause:

he's the most overrated player in recent memory.

no he is not worth it, a few gamewinners is not worth 100+ million
there are people getting less money and play better!
