Mitch.

Thanks for your service Pau. :applause: Ever since Shannon Brown bagged your woman circa the 11 playoffs though, you were never the same. You were still a beast at times, including the 2012 Olympics.

Dude, we're gonna waive him by the 1/7 deadline. Full-on tank mode.

We're in excellent position for both free agency and the draft though. Only way we can improve further is by trading Nash (or are we gonna save him for a sign-and-trade?).

He's only getting like 8 mill a year. Why not just keep him and see if he starts to pick his game up a bit? It's not like you need much from him for the 8 mill to be worth it.

Saves money to avoid the repeater tax which is more money, plus it adds value to the Lakers own pick.

There gots to be something else cus Bynum/Gasol alone doesn't work. Not sure why the people thought the Lakers would get a valuable asset like Waiters or a 1st round pick though especially when they have been trashing Gasol for some time now.

Pau Gasol's camp, I'm told, has been informed that the report of his trade to Cleveland being agreed on in principle is false.

Not sure how to feel bout getting Gasol... on the one hand, I'm sick of losing and would like to see the Cavs win some more games... on the other hand, this team is clearly not a contender with Gasol... desperately trying to make the playoffs only to get swept by Miami/Indiana, ugh

Lol @ the Lakers if they don't get a first rounder in this pick or somehow move Nash. It's literally the most pointless trade just to save money.

Gasol is expiring. The trade makes no sense unless Nash is in the deal or some sort of pick is provided. Why trade Pau for a 2nd rounder when you could just let him expire.

Bynum can either be released by the 7th and then his salary is only about half for this year (and the Lakers will play nothing), or it is a team option for next year.

So if the Lakers have absolutely that Pau Gasol won't return, getting a 2nd round pick in return is better than nothing.

And the Lakers can package one of their 2nd round picks and then the Cavs 2nd round pick and trade into the 18-30 pick range of the first round range, since typically there are at least one or generally a few teams that are looking to trade a late first round pick to clear salary cap space to make a run at free agency.

Cleveland is taking a risk if they trade for Gasol, since there is no guarantee that he will stick around next season. He'll have several teams possibly bidding him - Hawks, Bucks, Mavs, Kings, Wizards, Suns.

And the Lakers are taking a risk as well - Gasol fits in with Kobe, and there is no guarantee that they can get another big who can do that. And Kobe has two years left - if they can't find a big who can do that, the Lakers will be at a disadvantage the next two years.

The Lakers should have traded for Iguodala and Vucevic and then signed Jeremy Lin. They would have had a team with five guys who would have fit their spots: Kobe as the first option; Pau as second; Iggy as third; Lin as fourth; Vucevic as fifth.

Also hiring D'Antoni was because they had signed Nash - since Nash isn't playing due to injuries, it's pointless for him to be there.

lakers are going to cut Bynum and he's going to the Clippers. So the lakers are actually helping the Clippers. :lol
