Who's the better player?

Who has the better NBA Career??

KJ also led his team twice in the conference finals without Charles Barkley.

KJ is a better slasher, that's about it. CP3 does almost everything else better.

I would go with CP3 but it's no easy choice.

Peak KJ was a beast, one of the best peaks for a PG, let's not forget. Great prime, had to deal with major injuries though.

Highest MVP voting was 7th in 1991.
He was behind Jordan, Magic, Barkley, Karl Malone, David Robinson and Clyde.

Exactly. Thats why First team NBA selections are irrelevant. The MVP vote comparison is beyond stupid.

that's it when you play in a league with MJ, Barkley, Olajuwon, Ewing, Drexler, Malone, Robinson and that you have at point guard position guys like Magic and Stockton...all in their fu*king prime

If we are talking about their skillsets or their advanced stats or how highly they were viewed during their era, CP. If we're talking about something else (eg how little they flop, which one you dislike less), KJ has a good argument

Cp3.

Paul. This is a great PG era, and Paul has been the best in that era.

Paul, but KJ was really good too.

And not making All-NBA first team...come on, the 2 guard positions until 1991 were on lockdown by Jordan and Magic. After that, KJ was also fairly injury prone.

KJ was the more dominant scorer I'd say, but Paul is no slouch at scoring and a better pure PG.

Overall edge goes to Paul.

KJ was very good, but he was not a tier 1 PG like Paul is.

Tier 1 was Magic, Stockton, Payton...

Tier 2 was guys like Price, KJ, Hardaway etc.

That's a fair assessment...

KJ's prime years were crazy nonetheless...

Being the best in your position is irrelevant? I guess anything is irrelevant when it's against your agenda.

This. At times though, Penny was definitely in that Tier 1, sucks injuries derailed his career, he was one of my faves back In the day.

And those are just PGs. All-NBA Teams just pick the two best guards and two best forwards, so he also had to compete with SGs like Jordan and Drexler.

I'd go with Paul, but it's really close.

KJ in this era of soft perimeter defensive rules would be impossible to stop.

This one is so damn close. Let's not forget all those 20-10 seasons KJ accumulated either. So it's not like he was a scoring PG who also didn't drop dimes and lead a team. He was a dual threat just like Magic, Paul, Isiah, Big O, Payton, etc. I think KJ and Tim Hardawary were ABSOLUTELY better than John Stockton at their respective peaks. Sure Stock had the better career, but I would take both Timmy and KJ over Stock peak wise.

So between Paul and KJ, I would narrowly take Paul. I just think Paul's leadership, defense, and the way he totally commands as a floor general is the difference. I'm not saying KJ didn't have those attributes, but Paul I feel is the closest thing to Zeke in the way he dominates.
