Goddamn... Woj cut deep in that article... The sad part about it was everything he said will most likely happen

Oh lord....

That was personal. Woj went really far... Not saying too far, but that just sounded really bitter and hurtful.

Tough but fair.

I mean he goes a little too far with the insight, if he was more of a headache than an asset on the court [I mean he did win 6th man of the year and he does have a fire shot] the Knicks will let him go. No one wants to take the risk because the Knicks have him locked up. A goodly amount of teams would take the chance on him if the cost was lower.

Dude obviously has a few screws loose...just because you grew up in a good home, have money and can play a "silly game" doesn't change that.

This guy has no excuse Byron to Woody has been trying to get his guy to act right but he just doesnt get it. Although I think this last transgression was overblown he has pushed his level of immaturity to the point of him being a liability and a detriment to an organization. He has 3 years left on his contract before he can fade to black.

No problem.

In my opinion, it was a little much. But a good read nonetheless.

Sounds like a transcript of an intervention JR should have had.

Smith actually has a real diverse portfolio, he is a part owner of a couple big time restaurants in Los Angeles and has saved a lot of his earnings so far. He seems like an idiot and might be on the court but off the court he must have some smart advisors cause he's well set post bball, especially with the twelve million the knicks still owe him and his future contracts. Cute article by woj though

He got paid half of the 18 million at the start of his contract due to financial reasons. . .

What? I mean Woj is saying he is some spoilt suburban kid and I wouldn't have guessed that.

Smith has the franchise in tears. They locked this dude to to a contract bigger than he's worth and now trading him would be hard.

tough but fair. we don't need sports journalism that treats athletes like untouchable demigods.

he spent time with smith so i don't know how he feels about it. might have got a bit too personal. woj will bring the heat and truth though. smith is going to respond soon. gotta wonder if athletes will stop opening up to him :oldlol:

Only problem I have with the article is calling the dude a "28 year old kid". JR Smith is a grown ass, dumb ass man. Dude got paid and stopped giving a fvck. Shoulda signed him to a 2-year contract then at least he'd be good next season.

I do kinda miss the JR that cared and would do things like this though http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yqE7UzjZ39I
