He also became a much better passer as he became older. Nearly 5 apg at age 40.

Karl and Stock both were amazing players up to being 40 yrs old, both players also missed 1-2 games on average PER season over their entire career(In Utah) with Stock missing games only in 2 of his 18 seasons and malone only missed 1-2 games in a season while playing for Utah. Amazing durability for both.

SH*t the F*ck up Jordan Slurper.. The guy just ruined my thread. He already predicted that LBJ is going to suck in his lat 30's and early 40'. No $hit. By the time LBj is 40. He's gonna be a 22 yrs. NBA veteran.

LeBron James wont be in the NBA when he is 39. If a 3 peat now is too exhausting for him I can't imagine what it would be like 10 years from now.

I just posted Malone and Jordan's stats. That Wizards teams sucked. They only reason they televised the game here was because of MJ. They failed to advance into the playoffs in a much watered down, and much weaker eastern conference.

Both of those Wizards team's finished 37-45. That's a 45% winning percentage.
Which would put them anywhere between the 6th-8th seed in the EAST right now..

The level of competition in 2002 and 2003. No disrespect to Kidd, but those Nets team wouldn't win a single game against the Pacers and Heat in a best of 7 series. I even pick a healthy Rose with the Current Bulls to beat them in a playoffs series.
It's a $Hitty comparison the east is weak this year because of key injuries to their franchise players.

They were at 26-20 in 2002 and in the 6th spot in the EC before Jordan hurt his knee and had to sit out for like a month. They were on pace for 42-44 wins, which would have been an ABSURD turnaround considering they had won just 19 games the year prior, plus lost like 3 of their 4 top scorers from that season. They definitely make the playoffs in '02 with a 39 year old MJ if he didn't get hurt.
Didn't Jordan score the most points ever by an oldest player?

Those numbers are good, though.
He took a lot of shots to get dem numbers tho. He was a bit inconsistent due to old age and his injury. I would think he would need the Duncan and Wade treatment and take every other game out today especially on good teams. But his midrange game and off the ball movement was still money both years. 41% from midrange his first year back. And 43% from midrange in his last year.
I guess the top 3 SGs atm are Harden, Wade, and Klay Thompson?? Is wizards Jordan better than Klay Thompson? The early 00s were stacked with SGs tho Jordan played SF when he came back in the 00s.

In the 2002 season Mj was averaging 25/6/5 on 44% right up till his(knee?) injury affected his production and ultimately led to him missing 22 games.

He's the only player over 40 years old to score 40 in an NBA game.
He also scored 50+ at age 39.
Lebron is never touching those. He barely touches them now in his prime. :lol

When talking about MJ, people refer to his GOAT years on the Bulls. Those Wizards years were quite embarrassing though and shouldn't be brought up. I'm not even sure he was better than Rip when he played on the Wizards.

Malone's a regular season warrior though. Hard to ignore those multiple failures in the post-season.
Amazing longevity(2nd only to Kareem) but he was a choke artist. Dirty as hell too but most people seem to overlook the multiple injuries he's inflicted on opposing players. Ended a few careers IIRC.

how good was Malone! People comparing players primarily count a number of rings won and not how they PLAYED. But this is the way it should be and from this standpoint Malone unquestionably belongs in the top 10 list of best players.

It's kinda true. Karl actually had a good performance in the 1998 NBA Finals. He was the most consistent Jazz player in that series.
