Neither Durant or LeBron have been capitalizing on the MVP race. Durant is still slightly ahead when he could've been ahead by a large margin.

There's a point where even his defense doesn't make up for his lack of offense, like Perkins, and I think he's past that this year. All he needs to do is hit the open shots from the corner but he's been terrible all year shooting the three.

Yep I think this has been made pretty clear now. They fit well when the team is full, but with Westbrook they go to shit. All these players who were playing well with Westbrook in have been rubbish since he's been gone, and were just feeding off open lanes and open shots created by having Westbrook and Durant on the floor.

That being said, Lamb has been missing a bunch of shots he'd usually make. He's in a slump shooting wise.. he should pick up again.

I think its a bit of both, these players aren't useless and a lot of them are just going through shooting slumps, but without Westbrook and Brooks chitty offense they aren't obviously getting some of the easier shots they were getting and that affects the rest of their game since their confidence is down.

Lamb is their only player the relieves the offensive load, minus Reggie but he's not a starter quality PG.

Yeah, obviously Lamb is in a shooting slump.. and Reggie is clearly just not ready to be a starter in the NBA. He's the perfect bench spark but he doesn't fit this role. Pair that with a terrible offensive scheme (which relies on having star players ISO), a useless Kendrick Perkins and a less-so but still nearly useless Thabo out there, it's easy to see why the Thunder have been struggling.

That and in the fourth the defenses tighten up, so Durant is getting hammered and there's no second scoring option at all. This is why Durant has been struggling a lot in the fourth lately.. it's not even his fault, just a bad team make-up and coaching.

Exactly, Durant is their only go to scorer. Who's he going to defer to, Perkins? Ibaka? They have to be wide open for 5 seconds for them to make a shot.

Yeah, Reggie is pretty much the only other guy who can half create a shot, and even he has struggled hard. He can't get to the line like Westbrook does to get easy points either.

Hahaha. I think Thabo/Lamb COULD work? Don't know if Orlando FO would take it though. No way they take Perk :lol Still though, OKC trades Lamb and they lose much needed bench scoring. Ideally you want to trade PJIII instead but he's not worth as much.. that's why you trade him with the Dallas pick.

From the OKC perspective you'd really rather go the second deal. As I said, Lamb will develop into a nice, cheap bench scoring option which OKC really needs. The pick is good, but they can't afford to hold onto it.. they should be trying to win now.

Definitely.. Afflalo would make OKC MUCH more dangerous. If they can get him while holding onto Lamb as well this team is set and as long as Westbrook stays healthy, will have a shots at titles the next 5 years (assuming both Durant and Westbrook stick around).
