View Full Version : Lebron currently averaging 26-6-6... His worst stats since rookie season

What's wrong with him this season, has he lost that proverbial step? 26-6-6 is a nice stat line no doubt, but it's not what I expected from a so-called top tier all-time great who at 29 years of age should still be comfortably in his 'prime'. He went from putting up Oscar Robertson-like numbers a couple years ago to putting up Alex English like numbers right now. What's the deal? :confusedshrug:

i get why you hate lebron so much. When you lose a player whose worst season is 26-6.5-6.5 with 55+ fg% then you just start watching old basketball games and start shitposting about that player.

He has played the most games for the last 3 years. Three straight trips to the Finals. And this is the fourth year.

I imagine he is a little bit tired. It is one of the major reasons why very few teams ever three peat.

01-11-2014, 11:37 PM
Honestly i don't think he gives it all during games anymore. Especially now that he has nothing to prove and rings is all that matters to him now. Don't forget how many injured stars we've seen this year in the league.Better safe than sorry...

Durant on the other hand aims for that MVP and he should get it this year cause he deserves it.Additionaly he has to perform at that level every night if he wants his team to keep winning and grab one of the first spots in a much tougher conference

Lebron with more Finals MVP aka championship aka numero scoring option as Wilt after this season. And LJJ is also the superior playoffs and finals performer. Wilt numbers went down literally in the post season.

LeBron possesses more basketball ability this season than he ever has in his career. The only reason for the slight drop in his raw averages is decrease in minutes(career low mpg), some coasting and the fact that Miami's so talented offensively. He doesn't have to do that much.

He's as good as he has ever been, the team just doesn't need him to go all out on every team in the league.
He'll put up some big numbers against good teams and coast against the weak ones.
That's called being the best in the business, although I can't say that should get an mvp.

Yeah, but then you'd get something like 50 percent FG. He'd basically be a 09 version of himself with less rebounds and assists. Atleast stat wise

Safe to say after tonight's performance where Lebron tried to make a statement that he isn't coasting this season and that he has officially lost that proverbial step? I mean, he gave it his all and only put up 25-8-7 in a losing effort.

:confusedshrug:

BTW I do acknowledge that 25-8-7 is a nice all around statline to be certain, but even Lebron stans must admit this is incredibly pedestrian for an all time great who hyped up the game and played his absolute heart out in an effort to silence backlash about his lackluster season. Nobody remembers the games where MJ or Oscar Robertson put up 25-8-7... those aren't great stats for players of that caliber they are just average, heck sub-par for players at that level.

So is lebron still "just coasting"?

Actually yes.

He's clearly not putting in the same effort game to game that he has in the past. At least not defensively...it's been his worst defensive season in a long time. He still ramps up at times, but it's not nearly as consistent as it has been since like the 08 season.

Must be nice though...27/7/7 65% TS and still probably the best player in the league. At worst 2nd best...

I'm not too big on LeEfficient. A lot of times this year his team needed him to take that extra scoring load. They'd have wrapped up another 1st seed easily.

High FG looks nice on paper though, but was he dominant? :lol

Stacked team?

I mean most true contenders are more than 1 guy carrying a bunch of role players like the Cavs were. Contenders are usually stacked talent wise where many people can contribute, looks at the Spurs. So pretty much yeah, minus their obvious deficiencies size wise.
