I'm positive that's not why he broke up the squad.

But yeah Dirk is having a great season

Cuban is and will never be a cheapskate.

He just tried to save cap to make a run for some max FA's last offseason(DWill, Dwight, CP3, etc) but we all know that ultimately failed.

BTW, do fools still think KG is better than Dirk?

even tho i dont agree with the break up of the team...

i really think we could have gotten dwight and dwill IF dwight didnt opt-in. That ****ed up everything

Makes no sense. At least give your championship team a chance to idk defend their title. Epic cheapskate would rather lock in Oj Mayo than Tyson Chandler :oldlol:

I can only imagine the Heat trading Shaq after winning the chip :oldlol: its funny cause its the exact same scenario Tyson had that much impact and you dont even lock him in

I agree. All they needed to do is resign Chandler and retool the roster a bit. If they would have had Chandler they could have easily gotten past OKC the following season in the postseason..

Unfortunately. I just don't get it either and the KG stans make it seem like it's not even a debate and they usually ridicule the opposite side. KG is a career loser who need two HOF'er two carry him to postseason success..

What's ironic is that till this day... the Mavs still really need a defensive/rebounding center.

Tyson was the perfect C next to Dirk :facepalm

By lock in Mayo you mean 2 year deal with the 2nd a player option knowing damn well he wouldn't come back?

F*ckin idiots on ISH man

i think they would have needed a little bit more than chandler to get past both OKC and red hot spurs in 2012.

this is when KG gets overrated. I understand if you pick KG over Dirk, nothing wrong with that... but not on the same level?

I don't like KG. I have a lot of reasons to be a KG hater. I like Dirk, love his game. But KG >>>> Dirk. Don't fool yourselves.

Yet we wouldn't have the team we have today at all....and Chandler himself is grossly over-rated and often injured.

You don't pay Tyson Chandler 15 million a year in this CBA with Dirk/Marion on the books for 30 million a year as well if you are actually trying to win the title.

Cuban did the right thing...it just didn't work out. We would have been marginally better in 12 and 13...and considerably worse this year if Cuban had stuck with the 11 roster.

Uhhhh...that is not why he broke up the team. He didn't bring everyone back because even with Dirk playing elite championship basketball...they still weren't good enough to win again. That is the sad thing.

I can't believe people still whine about Chandler. The same guy that has been injured/awful for the Knicks since 12...and even more awful in the playoffs.

Chandler is not worth 15 million a year in this CBA. If you are paying Chandler/Dirk/Marion around 46 million a year....you aren't winning shit in the NBA post 2011 to present.

The goal was to win a title or titles....not to be the 4th or 5th seed and maybe squeak out a round 1 playoff series win. So the truth is that it really doesn't matter what happened post 2011 other than trying to win a title. While Cuban's plan failed to manifest itself, we are still in a much better situation right now than if we had kept guys....especially Chandler.

Dirk > KG

KG needed Ray Allen and PP to do anything in the post-season.

That was a magical run and Dirk played like the golden embodiment of every white man who wishes they weren't crap at basketball and all the Norse gods put together and his flowing Jesus hair was the strands of karma from the 2006 finals coming back to punish Stern, but let's be real. That team wasn't winning another title. The only reason they even got the one they did was because LeBron gagged.

Kidd, Chandler & Jet playing out of their minds on one of the deepest teams in recent memory obviously didn't give Dirk any support at all.

Keep coming up with your biased theories, dumbass.

Yes but he won it and he did it with one of the most incredible playoff runs of all time, beating a super team composed by 2.5 superstars in their prime, so..

21 PPG is not #1 option material though, and hes not #1 every night. monta has his share as well.

i wonder how dirk and carmelo would work together.

Next season they played OKC (who went to the finals).

Game 1: Thunder win by one on a lucky bounce game winner by Durant
Game 2: Thunder win by three, Mavs ahead by one with two minutes left and had two possessions.
Game 3: Thunder blowout.
Game 4: Mavs led by 13 going into the 4th.
