Reggie Miller is the second greatest three point shooter after ray allen, regardless of how good he was at anything else, he definitely deserves his spot in the hall.

Bill was one of the greatest college players of alltime. His NBA career would have been better if he wasn't injury-prone.

Walton for longevity ranks extremely low, but certainly not for his peak ability.

without doing research, I'd say Sabonis, and only because of a technicality... OP said "worst NBA player".

Sabonis averaged 12/7 in the NBA. I know he was much better in Europe, came over well after his prime, wasn't healthy, etc... and he 100% deserves to be in the HOF... but that's where the technicality comes in. Europe is not the NBA. I don't care if you're injured. It is what it is.

I'll go with

- KC Jones (great defensive player, really good passer and not much more at all, loved his "style" as a coach too, but not hof worthy despite the numerous rings)

- Bill Bradley (pretty good role player, contributed to 2 championships but not close to hof worthy)

- Bob Houbregs

There are some others who were good players but not hof worthy, at least in my book, they "let in" plenty of people I think shouldn't be there, while others got or still are snubbed.

Drazen is there because of his basketball career/legacy.... not simply NBA.... its called "Basketball Hall of Fame", not NBA Hall of Fame... he is the biggest opposite of "worst player".... if he came in to the NBA early & didnt die he would been known as one of NBA's greatest scorers of all time, clutch players of all time and easily the greatest shooter of all time (which Reggie Miller calls him), as far as accolades... who knows... This guy in Europe in his prime was like Wilt in the 60s, scoring between 50-112 points every other game no matter what...

Didn't even know Bob Houbregs was in here, but he seems not to have achieved much outside of college (where he was NCAA player of the year, but didn't even win the championship or anything). He only played 5 seasons in the league and the highest he averaged was 12 ppg.

Today it would be like putting JJ Redick or Tyler Hansbrough in the Hall of Fame.

The worst player in the hall is Buddy Jeanette (look him up, and someone tell me why he is there.) Other than him:

Here are a few who clearly don't belong:

Roger Brown
Al Cervi
Bob Houbregs
K.C. Jones
Slater Martin (rode the coattails of better teammates, like KC Jones)
Arnie Risen
Maurice Stokes (based on potential and tragic circumstances, not on his career)

And some who are questionable:

Bill Bradley (depends how much you value college prominence)
Harry Gallatin
Dick McGuire
Vern Mikkelsen
Ralph Sampson
Bobby Wanzer

Still MVP (and 2nd on the voting once too), FMVP, 2 championships, 2x all-defensive 1st (and dpoy had there been the award), 6th man of the year and one of the greatest peaks for a center at age 25, before injuries. Along with his college career, that's enough for the HoF in my book, especially with some of the inductees.

And if we're going by prime, no way in hell he's the worst player in the hall, not even remotely close.

KC Jones, no doubt. Playing with Russell made him a HOF.

Well, OP said NBA player. So yeah, Petrovic really doesn't deserve to be in the HOF based on what he did in the NBA.

Drazen by far massively overrated by Euros who think they know about basketball

In his only two full seasons (1991-1993) as a starter Drazen got the better from Reggie in some of their H2Hs. You could check easily at http://www.basketball-reference.com/play-index/h2h_finder.cgi?request=1&p1=millere01&p2=petrodr01

There was rivalry between both players,
And check out Reggie admitting Drazen was the best shooter (better than him) in NBA:

Like Terrell Davis, Walton's peak was short, but extremely impressive.

Weren't we talking about Walton?

Peak Walton (76-78):

Regular Season (123 games, 34.1 minutes/game):
18.8 points, 13.8 rebounds, 4.4 assists, 2.9 blocks, 53% FG. 105 ORtg, 90 DRtg.

Playoffs (19 games, 39.7 minutes/game):
18.2 points, 15.2 rebounds, 5.5 assists, 3.4 blocks, 51% FG. ?? ORtg, 90 DRtg.

That title run is better than any 2 year stretch from Robinson and Ewing. Robinson had some monster regular seasons, yeah, but he hid in Playoffs.

You said nowhere near a top 5 C peak then gimme only 7 players above... :facepalm

Anyways, I give you Shaq, KAJ, Wilt, Hakeem and Russell (though some are close), I also might give you Moses but not really Robinson and Ewing.

Walton was pretty similar to Russell, a slightly taller, less athletic (still athletic) version with bit less defense and rebounding (still close enough) but better scoring and bit better passing. Maybe not the same in terms of intangibles too but close enough.
And he was still 25 when he went down.

What nostalgia, fool?

Numbers, numbers... Look at this stats geek. :oldlol:

In a 2-year span, at the beginning of his prime, Walton won MVP and was 2nd in voting once, led a team to a championship with a great playoff run, his only while healthy, won FMVP, made all-defensive 1st (dpoy in 1978 definitely), had just ridiculous impact on his team. In 1978 before Walton got injured, Portland had a 50-10 record, finishing 58-24. When he left, that team was never even close to the same level.

Robinson really shrunk in the playoffs time and time again. Ewing also had plenty of problems due to injuries but neither of those two could lead their team to a championship although Pat was pretty close.

Murphy was a 3x All-American (2 first team) in college though so it's not too far fetched for him to be in the HOF.
