“Love, in the top four this season in scoring and rebounding,” Sam Smith of Bulls.com wrote. “Is said to be favoring the Lakers or the Knicks in free agency in 2015 when both will have money for perhaps two free agents.”

I've seen nothing to show that he has no intent of trying to get to L.A. Makes too much sense too.

If Lakers sign Melo this summer, surely Love will choose Lakers in 15'. Imagine a core of Melo, Kobe & Love, don't forget our future rookie.

Instead of Melo, Lakers should go for Westbrook.

Knicks and lakers are pretty bad so he'll be able to pad his stats and lose like always.

Love would be a fool not to join Milwaukee.

I think that's kinda the plan at this point. Pretty sure Kobe's contract was based on them having the capspace, needing to use it, and knowing they're going to suck for the next two seasons. A parting gift, if you will...

Your a horrendously stupid poster, how does this work cap wise?

Is Love with CAA? If so, he will come to the Knicks. They got their hooks in the Knicks. That's where all the Thibs to NY rumors come from.

I thaught it was always common knowledge K-Love was LA bound? The question is whether the Wolves actually think they can keep him or they do the smart thing and trade him for some assets?

He's not going to leave one small-market franchise with a junk front office for another.

So he just wants to be in a bigger market with bigger spotlight/endorsements. Kinda makes me respect KG more and more, the guy wanted to be in a wolves jersey his whole career for gods sake, just shows how loyal he is.

Sweet, all the more reason to get a good draft pick this year. Who would the Lakers draft this year that would best compliment Love?

If we get a pick high enough, Embiid.

That would already give us a great basis on both offense and defense.

He will go wherever Carmelo is.

Sounds good to me. Id like to somehow get Klay Thompson too in a few years. Both Klay and Kevin's dad played for the Lakers around the same time. It would be a nice core to work with.

What would Melo sign for???

For example if it's 15 million it makes it difficult to sign Love plus 12 other players on the cap plus exceptions. It doesn't seem feasible to create. Big 3 in the modern NBA.

Trade to get Love after signing Melo this offseason. Lakers will be over the cap but have always been willing to pay over.

Knicks will have the most cap room of any team that year I believe.

If you want to win in this era, you have to go to places that attract the best players or form super teams.

No offense to Minny, they just don't have the history and knowhow to build championship contenders.

I don't doubt that the Lakers can pay over the Cap but I doubt that Melo + Kobe taking 70-75% of the cap that they would be able to make a trade for Love. They would need to trade 3-4 players if not more just to match Love's salary.

BTW I hope Laker fans realize you don't need a big 3 to compete for a title. The Pacers, Spurs, Ws, Blazers aren't exactly star studded teams.

you do realize that once u get under the cap, you cant trade to go over it again, any player you renounced to get that space cant be used in trades and can be resigned to whatever amount to fit up to the cap limit. once you go under you stay under it so
so if u have kobe at 25 and melo at 20, tahts 45 mil...so you have another 10 mill to make the rest of ur roster

LA is more likely but it depends what team we have in place. If it isn't much better than the wolves team he may stay.
