There's some talk about Rondo returning this Friday against the Lakers and once he officially returns, rumors are gonna spread like wildfire. So we might as well start trying to figure out what the Celts could realistically get for him in a trade.

I feel like the main reason he's returning before the All-Star break is to showcase himself and show that he's healthy for anyone who's interested in trading for him

I don't see us trading him anytime soon, but hey, if the Kings wanna give us Cousins :D

I'd like him to the Lakers for whatever, but I suspect the Suns would make a play for him. Didn't they say they would trade any of their 4 draft picks for an immediate impact player? Would be a much faster rebuild for Boston. I'm not aware of Phoenix's cap situation, so what do I know, maybe it doesn't work financially.

Sure if Miami get the Bucks and the Jazz's picks, we will take them off you and take Chalmers if you like :D

Rondo would have the worse attitude in Miami

You couldn't pay me to take the knicks management plus don't the future picks become meaningless. They would just be traded away for marginal talent.

Anyways I don't see Rondo getting traded unless he demands it or Ainge gets a deal he can't refuse. I don't see either scenario as likely. I mean it is not like the Celtics aren't sitting on a pile of assets and from what I've read it seems Rondo relishes the opportunity to be the face of the franchise.

I don't see how it accelerates the rebuilding process for Boston. Rondo isn't perfect but he has won in this league and is accustomed to coming up huge in the later rounds in May. There is no reason to give up a known commodity for young assets when that is not a huge concern for the Celtics going forward.

Rondo would rather retire than go to Miami.

Perhaps I was subconsciously thinking if Boston was worried about his long term health. That and maybe getting a draft pick or two, for some reason, immediately thought fast rebuild to me.

If the Celtics decide to move on from Rondo, I can see him landing on the Kings.

PHX already has dragic and Bledsoe tho, don't see them going for rondo.

You can have anything from the Kings but Gay, Cousins, Williams and Acy.

I really doubt Rondo gets traded this year, Ainge is only gonna make a trade if he truly believes it to be beneficial too the team and I don't see any team offering fair value this year. No lotto team with picks that we would want would give them up with this years draft especially with a big question mark on how Rondo returns as well as how he deals with not having Pierce and KG at his side. Obviously no contending team is gonna give up a star player for him and they won't have good picks to sweeten the deal with some lesser role players in a trade. IF Rondo is traded I would see it being next season.

I'd trade Dragic for a pick somewhere and roll with Rondo/Bledsoe. Never hurts to upgrade.

The Celtics have 9 1st round picks over 5 years and the right to swap some of those picks with Bk. Not seeing a need to trade a potential building piece for more future assets.

And what Celtics would do with him later? You think they have a brain-cleaning program running somewhere in the cellar?

Myself I haven't thought of anybody of high caliber that I would like on Celtics right now... Lets wait and see what develops first, I think.

Celtics should give Rondo to Houston for Asik and Lin.
Tank the season, draft a good player next year and bang they are in contention for the ECF again:applause:

Lin
Bradley
Green
Draft Duncan clone
Asik

That would literally have to be the scenario if they were to make it to the ECF.

All they need would be a good young scoring PF who doesnt even have to be good defensively. i dont know if the draft can give them that but they would be the third best team in the east

i think you mean julius randle here right? not bad if they get asik but if not they would think twice getting randle because he is not light years better than sullinger, who actually plays better defense.

rondo with the kings maybe better as long as its not for cousins.

Nothing because he will block any trade not to the knicks so take Amare and be happy with it! (I am totally joking but i'm sure i get killed for this...)

I'd only trade him for a top 5 pick, or some combinations of rookie contract and lotto pick. No one will trade those, so...

Celtics will do it if the Knicks send their next 30 years of unprotected first round picks.
