This happened a week ago.

It has later surfaced that the crash was caused by Vlade's mother Radmila (72), who was driving when the accident happened. His late father was 77 years old.

Now the mother's attorney is calling on the Serbian president to pardon Vlade's mother, who could be put on trial for causing a grave traffic accident. If found guilty, she could end up in prison for 1 to 8 years.

The political situation in Serbia is tense as always and though Vlade is largely an icon in our country, pardoning his mother will not be an easy decision to make for the President.

If he does it, he will be most likely criticized for putting Divac's mother above the law. On the other hand, nobody else but her husband died in the accident and she will be most probably haunted by it for the rest of her life so no need to put her in jail...

A few years ago, the documentary about Vlade's broken friendship with the late Drazen Petrovic created a lot of buzz. Drazen died in a car accident. Vlade's parents were featured at the start of the film. Now his father is killed in a car crash apparently caused by his mother. How sad.

Damn, that's rough. That was a difficult 30/30 to watch too. :(

That's maybe one of the most tragic stories I ever read.

:( sad to hear anything that happens like this.

Why are 70 year olds driving? They have horrible vision and their reactionary skills? Sloth-like
