Anyone got the insider hookup?

With two days off this weekend and a refreshing visit to the White House on Tuesday, James promises we'll see a different James against the 17-19 Washington Wizards. "We'll see Wednesday how I'm coasting," James said jokingly as he made his way into the Heat locker room on Monday. "You'll see the numbers I'll put up on Wednesday. Just watch."

http://www.bulletsforever.com/2014/1/15/5311036/lebron-on-accusations-that-hes-been-coasting-this-season

So what's Lebron gonna put up tonight?

Yeah, this makes zero sense. So he's going to turn it up and have a monster game...to prove that this is what he has in fact been doing all season long? Or is he just saying that the numbers he puts up on Wednesday are going to be consistent with what he's been putting up during the last few games?

For the good of the team he should try to average that many FGA. This team doesn't need him to dominate at all, unless it is needed of course.

If he shoots 3+ more times he wont shoot close to what hes shooting now though.. either hes aggressive and scores more on lower Fg or he picks and chooses the most opportune 10-15 shots he possibly can per game and puts up high efficiency.. Wouldnt call what hes doing coasting.. just cherrypickin

Im gonna guess 21/8/7 on a very careful 7 for 9 shooting w/ a 40 PER and 3 well placed flops

Coasting is a bad word. Conserving. Which is smart on the entire Heat's team part, LeBron included. They're attempting to go to their 4th straight championship. That's extremely difficult. He's compartmentalizing his energy. That's called strategy. He'll come out and have an average game. He hasn't had a real motivated game on an individual level since the 2012 playoffs. Last time he dropped 50 was on Orlando in 2011 when he was playing angry.

Nah, it's not that accurate because Ariza obviously isn't guarding him the entire time in all those games but...

Lebron scores less and at lower FG%. Way more turnovers, but he still gets a ton of boards and assists. I would say Ariza does better than your average Lebron defender.

Every time he wants to have a big game, he scores a bunch in the 1st, barely does anything in the 2nd, adds a little more in the 3rd, and usually doesn't do much in the 4th (when the game is already decided).

Prediction:
13 points in the 1st
5 points in the 2nd
11 points in the 3rd
4 points in the 4th

33 points on like 11/18 or something.

Did he come out and say "ima score 81" or did he go into the locker room down at half, come out in the 3rd down 71-53 to then rally off 51 points to lead his team to victory?

By the time Kobe got in the late 60s, the game was in hand for LA and he was getting enough defensive attention by that point to get his teammates involved. He was in the selfish zone. Come on, who are you kidding?

That's why his teammates looked so un-enthused about the whole thing as it was happening. Yes, Kobe's scoring prowess brought them back from a deficit. But you'd be lying if you didn't admit that at some point he could've used the attention he was getting as an opportunity to get others on his team involved with open looks.

The point was in multiple games Kobe went out and took advantage purposely of some really bad teams, scoring as much as he could:

2006 Raptors
2007 Grizzlies
2007 Hornets
2007 Timberwolves
2009 Knicks

He didn't announce it, but the agenda was kind of obvious given the mentality from the get go in many of those games. Especially given the total lack of playmaking or notches in the assists column.

LeBron's statement is dumb, I agree. But let's not act like Kobe hasn't purposely taken advantage of some really bad teams.

Where was I hyping up LeBron? I said his statement was dumb.

Kobe's 62 in 3 quarters against the 2006 Mavericks is arguably IMO his most impressive scoring game. Even though he was given a CRAP ton of free-throws that game.

That was the 2nd best team in the league in 2006. A very impressive performance in context from Kobe, more impressive than the 81. Had a good defender on him too. Not an ancient, no defense playing Jalen Rose.

Generally Kobe's high scoring games came against terrible opponents in meaningless regular season games.

Lebron is the best player of the Miami Heat, and the best player in this league.

Larry Bird, Magic Johnson, and Bill Russell had far better teams than Lebron in their entire NBA Career.

Even Mr. 11x NBA champion Bill Russell don't have any problems with Lebron playing for the Heat. He was a free agent. And Playing with wade and bosh is much better than playing with Varejao and Mo Williams.

Why does James care about what numbers he's going to put up ? He should be better than this, he's got nothing to prove anymore in terms of accomplishments. The only stat he should be concerned about at this point in his career is a win for his basketball team.

Perhaps he's just hyped for a divisional opponent, but I doubt that. It could just be he was baited by the media, which seem to have worked. Oh well, just back it up and come out with a win.

Wtf are you on about? You didn't address a single thing I said, and instead, you went off on a tangent about these guys and their teams.

Your boy is soft, and it's so blatantly obvious, that even children see it plain as day (hence the mockery). Now he's shaking his fist talking about "I'LL SHOW YOU" like he's some sort of cartoon villain, lol. Just play to your potential LeBron, and people will stop making fun of you. Can you tell him that for me next time you talk to him? Thx.

Ehh, he will have his average game I think. Scoring 40+ is just not in his nature anymore, and I don't think he could just do it out of no where because he is a rhythm player. Plus I think DWade is playing tonight, so LeBron is not gonna attempt as many shots.

Who cares about those videos?? I am sure is happy with his current situation. He's the 4th richest athlete in the world. and he's a 2x NBA Champion, 4x NBA MVP, and 2x finals MVP.

Miami loses back to back games in new York, then has a long break, over which they talk about how they're getting back to basics, and then LeBron comes out and says "WATCH WHAT I DO TONIGHT"... and now they're down by 30 points in the first half to a horrible team. for back-to-back champions, the Miami heat sure do know how to make a laughingstock of themselves

You know how an old and dying Lion gathers up all his last strength he has left to do make one last desperate attack against a garbage team to try and prove to the world that the prime Lion has yet to surpass him and hasn't yet taken over his pride? That was LeBron tonight...he failed.

That was just sad to watch from LeBron and very surprising, totally uncalled for...... He wasnt even having a good season, but he sure wanted to take that time of talking to the media to downplay Durant and self-hype himself even more though its a completely useless thing to poke & annoy the fans and show his evident feelings towards Durant humiliating him by surpassing him @ the tender age of 25,while LeBron is at his peak. where it matters (what else could it be?) by trashtalking (not fun or friendly trashtalking) to the media and putting up all his energy (which he would not put up on the court all season) on trying to pad his stats against a nonchalant Washington team as hard as he ever could in a nonchalant regular season game game......

I mean, he was DEAD serious, Game 7 Finals 1 minute left game tied type of serious.......... with all his might played as hard as possible while trashtalking to the media before the game, then posted even worse stats then he was averaging for the year

The only thing I want out of LeBron is to see him take 35+ shots to try to get a 50 or 60 point game. 25/8/7, 36/7/5, 32/5/6 - win or loss, we've seen these lines almost a decade now. Just be selfish for once in a blue moon, when Wade or Bosh scores less than 10- takeover on the scoring side.

He's proven me wrong the last 2 years so I don't have room to hate on anymore than the 50-60 point game I'd like to see.

Nah, it's not that accurate because Ariza obviously isn't guarding him the entire time in all those games but...

Lebron scores less and at lower FG%. Way more turnovers, but he still gets a ton of boards and assists. I would say Ariza does better than your average Lebron defender.
That's because he's been defending LeBron in their matchups since high school.
He has the experience and the physical tools that make him one of the best LeBron defenders around, though he is severely underrated.

Lebron passes to much and scores not so much averaging 7 Assists every year: LeBron trusts his teammates to much and isnt selfish enough
LeBron has a bad game where he tried to score much: Lebron tries to do everything on his own his entire career and is now declining at at 29...
that logic is retarded even for a Kobe stan:roll:

a scorer should play off the ball to be more effective. Only players who doesnt trust their teammates or wants to statpad(selfish) who wants to hold the ball like lebron does. Go look at jordan how many assists he averaged during his 2nd 3 peat genius. LOL just another 12 year old believing stats means everything

Wasn't his comment clearly tongue in cheek though?

I mean, the way he started this game(passive, completely uninvolved), the last thing he seemed focused on was making some kind of statement.

Why are you sitting here and pretending that Lebron's play isn't that of producing wins?
Hes played winning basketball his whole life essentially outside of his first couple of seasons in the NBA. Hes been on 50+ win teams the whole time since 06-07, most of the time them being 60 win teams. Hes the back to back finals MVP...

I'm going to take a guess, and say since his first MVP season, he has won the most games in the NBA out of anyone. Clearly, hes not playing the game correctly, right?

It would've been embarrassing had he actually shown some intent to have a big game. But he seemed out of it right from tip-off. Terrible game.

He did show intent when he said this:

"We'll see how I'm coasting. You'll see the numbers I'll put up on Wednesday"

Too bad you're a delusional dumbass.

Yea, like a lot of the scrutiny surrounding LeBron over the years. It's self imposed through absolute, gum flapping stupidity. He brought this one all on himself. Per usual. He just continually says dumb things.

"We'll see Wednesday how I'm coasting," James said jokingly as he made his way into the Heat locker room on Monday.

This doesn't sound like a guy who was bent on making some kind of statement. And his intent-less play right from tip-off made that pretty obvious. Honestly, wouldn't this have been a million times more satisfying for you guys if LeBron was actually trying to have a big game out there and fell flat on his face? The first time he even put some effort tonight was with 2 minutes to go in the first half.

Personally I do think Lebron is coasting, he simply doesnt have to play as hard as Durant does. This game more showed that LBJ cant turn it on anytime he wants though, unlike MJ.

As a Lebron owner in fantasy basketball, I can tell you that he is definitely coasting. He's averaging like half a block less per game than his normal average. People like Jeremy Lin and Kemba Walker are blocking more shots per game than he is. This is a completely unreported story and may end up cost me a fantasy championship.

For real it's pretty ridiculous how few shots he blocks. I think he blocked a shot today but was credited with an assist instead, anyone know what I'm talking about?
