Who was/is better? LeBron played more minutes, so his raw stats are a little higher than Durant's

LeBron 29.7 ppg 7.3 rpg 8.6 apg 3.4 TOV 60.4 TS% 121 ORTG 102 DRTG 31.1 PER .298 WSp48 61-21 record

Seeing as Durant has been posting 36/8/6 36 PER and .375 WSp48 without Westbrook, I would expect Durant's numbers to continue to climb. And what's your logic for picking LeBron?

Your wasting space by trying to convince yourself and others that a few game stretch where Durant is jacking 25-30 shots a game makes him better than Lebron who is a superior passer, defender and just as good or better rebounder. There is more than 1 phase to the game.

He's averaging 23 FGA per game during this stretch. And it's not some random sample size. For 1, this thread is about the entire season. For 2, the sample you're referring to is literally EVERY game since Westbrook got hurt. It's not like a cheery picked an 12 game sample in the middle of the season where he had his best numbers.

lebron was taking the other team's best player completely out of the game while KD just chillin.

And for all these stats hos apg don't mean shit. lebron passing >>>>>> kd passing, just look at the types of assists and how they come.

That being said KD a beast, just annoying cuz he has the refs suckin him dry. Lebron still better tho. Now and in his 7th year, wait till the playoffs.

Yeah, that 1 minute and 4 seconds really inflated James stats.

I'm surprised he didn't adjust LeBron's DRTG to his team and conference to justify why Durant is better. Also Durant has larger % of team assists and lower % of TOV.

Not hating btw (on either player), obvious stan, shouldn't be paid attention.

I take Durant 10 times out of 10 because he has no performance anxiety.

A lot of people underrate the ability to compartmentalize and take care of the moment. LeBron doesn't have this skill and this sort of stuff does not show up on the box score.

Durant is a true alpha male on the court, who cares deeply and gives it his all no matter what. He was devastated when they were jobbed in the finals by a stacked team.

Durant was actually genuinely sad and upset that they lost the finals.

LeBron on the other hand was more conscious of what people were going to think of him. Hence why he lashed out at all of NBA fans across the WORLD and called them losers on national TV and stayed in his room depressed for months on end trying to formulate a plot so people like him again.

It's the only reason he left Cleveland. People were wanting him to start winning those rings so he took the easy way out, the short road. It's why LeBron is respected by no one and gets punked on the regular by role players.

Meanwhile Durant is hitting game winners and calling dudes bitches to their face after he slams it down their throat.

LeBron was never as good as his stats indicate. Opposite for Durant and Westbrook.

I think those stats speak for themselves.... you add the accountability from those 8.6 assists (17 to 26 points on the boxscore) to his 30 ppg you are looking at 47 to 56 ppg which Lebron maintained for offensive accountability..... thats alot more than 30 ppg + 5 apg..... then you consider the defense part, that he won the MVP and that he got that team record with no Westbrook/Top 5 MVP type of sidekick.... and now we wonder why this thread even exists...

Funny part is that Lebron is now better than ever before... you can just wonder what type of stats he can fill/padd having the same offensive freedom...

it seems people have forgot how good of a regular season player lebron was in his last two seasons with the cavs. Lebron was also very clutch with the cavs contrary to his miami play in late games. Go back and watch some old cavs games year 7 lebron shits on year 7 durant

How the **** is this even a comparison.

LeBron James averaged 30 points a game with 9 ASSISTS per game. That is unheard of.

Durant is averaging 30 points with 5 assists per game, which has been done plenty of times before.

Both are about the same when it comes to rebounding, especially because Durant is taller than LeBron, and LeBrons defense was much better then Durant's. LeBron led an average at best team to a 61-21 record, while Durant isn't even half way through the season and you're already predicting a 62-20 record which won't happen without Westbrook.

This isn't really all that close, Joyner is a moron.

LeBron won his 2nd MVP in 2010, Durant is a lock to win one this year. If he wins one next year, they'll both have 2 through season 8. And if Durant's wins a title in the next 2 seasons, he'll have a resume that crushes LeBron's through year 8. Not to mention he didn't bail on a franchise.

And if Durant didn't have to play against peak LeBron, he would have won the MVP in 2012 and 2013. Who was LeBron's main competition in 2009-2010? An end of prime Kobe and a 21 year old Durant? I'm pretty sure all of the LeBron stans have already stated that current Durant>Peak Kobe.

Too many "ifs" in your argument, come back to make this argument when Durant actually wins MVP and a ring next year. And when he does (which has a good chance of happening), you can make a thread called "Year 8: Durant > LeBron".

Until then LeBron > Durant.

'09 and '10?
Wade - 30/8/5/2/1 on 49%. One of the best seasons ever for an SG. 3rd in DPOY as well
Kobe - A 27/5/5 Kobe
Dwight
CP3

Oh, and the season's only half done. LeBron is still averaging 26/7/7 on 67% TS. Not too far away from Durant. If he does even slightly better, while having a better record, he's winning it for a 5th time.

Lebron won 2 MVP's in 7 year. Fact. KD still hasn't won yet. Fact. Hypotheticals (like mine above) are fun and all, but lets just wait for it happen.

Only a person who knows absolutely NOTHING about basketball would take current Durant over a peak Kobe. You're having fun with Durant averaging 39/6/6 over a 10 game stretch? Kobe averaged over 40/5/5 over a month 4 times. You must be too young to remember it, but Kobe actually had a WHOLE season during with he averaged 35/5/5..

You mean the Wade that played for a 43 win team? Ya some MVP quality season :facepalm

And LeBron's main competition in 2010 was a 21 year old kid named Kevin Durant.

As for LeBron's averages, wrong.

26.1/6.9/6.5 65.9 TS% vs 31.1/7.9/5.2 64.3 TS%.

And let's look at trends

November
LeBron 26.9/6.0/5.9 69.9 TS% 123 ORTG
Durant 26.9/8.1/4.5 59.9 TS% 115 ORTG

December

January
LeBron 27.3/6.8/6.1 63.0 TS% 118 ORTG
Durant 36.5/6.4/6.2 67.3 TS% 130 ORTG

Durant is climbing, LeBron is falling. Durant has the narrative, is carrying a team without it's 2nd best player to the top record in the NBA, and is playing at an all time level.

As for Kobe, don't even begin to compare is sub 55 TS% to Durant's GOAT level efficiency
