First off, I have to admit to being severely disappointed with the Nets this year and also KG just seemingly aging 10 years overnight. It never feels good when you see greats fall off so sharply.

But in the midst of the recent talk of KG and his place in basketball history, I came across a stat saying he was the only player in NBA history to amass totals of 25,000 points, 10,000 rebounds, 5,000 assists, 1,500 steals and 1,500 blocks. Pretty amazing, but when you look at his stats you see how close he is to 25,000 points, 15,000 rebounds, 5,000 assists, 2,000 steals and 2,000 blocks.

Surely he'll fall just short in some of those categories, but the fact he's reached the numbers he has speaks to not just his greatness but his overall uniqueness as a player. Sadly the days of watching him perform are numbered.

Which has me wondering who will and might be next. Do any of you think we'll ever see another player reach or come close to those kind of career numbers across the board?

Even though this is his worst year, he's still one of the greatest players to play the game. Top 25 player of all time

If you ever wanna rank KG all time, it isn't hard. Find out where you have Dirk ranked and put KG below him.

You know what, you are right. I forgot about that time KG won a championship without multiple all stars/hall of famers. Can you believe I forgot about that time? Crazy me:lol

It's A VC3!!!

It's not fair to bash KG for "falling off" without at least comparing his stats from years prior. Last season he averaged 13 shot attempts per game and 15 points per game. This season he is averaging 7 shot attempts per game and 7 points per game. Half the shots and half the points, that's the reason for the drop-off. That's also with 8 minutes less per game. Also averaging 1 less rebound than last season. His field goal percentage did drop considerably from 50% to 40% but in 2014 it's been north of 50%. So he has been very consistent with the minutes and shot attempts that he's been getting. If he were averaging 5 more minutes per game and 2 to 3 more touches he's be at double figures in scoring.

I love Garnett as a player and wish that the Nets had a 30 year old Garnett and 30 year old Pierce. I hope he remains a Net for another year and can retire a Net. Him and Pierce. Yes, they are old but they are both giving us great production for their age and limited touches. Both do frustrate me from time to time but I have to take the good with the bad.

He also would have no ring, or any playoff appearances in the last decade.

Garnett at one point in time was putting up 24/14/5, was the clear-cut MVP and best player in the league with 2 top 10 players at/near their prime and another top 15 player at his peak, while being a DPOY candidate, led the largest turnaround in NBA history and anchored an elite championship while at the same time being his team's leading playoff scorer.

Nowitzki's never been on that level

I love complete / all around players like Garnett. If he played for the Lakers or Spurs his entire career he'd be Top 5-10 all time.

Not the best but most complete. He could score, was one of the best defenders ever, best pick and roll defender ever, elite ball handler played point center and point forward numerous times, one of the best big passers ever, one of the best shooting touches for a big man especially midrange and FT, one of the best rebounders ever, one of the best intangibles ever. Only thing he didnt do at an alltime level was 3pt shooting...........
