Both drafted the same year. Who has more potential and whose the better player today

Harrsion Barnes is clearly better. Although he is slightly overrated.

I honestly don't like either of them that much. Barnes has a much larger chance of getting overpaid though so I'll take MKG cause defense at the 3 is more important than offense. I can get that elsewhere.

Yeah but his shooting and post up game make up the difference for the defense difference.

Not enough for the millions of dollars worth of difference between the two contacts they will receive. Unless CHA ****s up and overpays (likely)

I dont know about that. Barnes has a lot of potential. Barnes probably wont stay in Golden State though.

I'll take MKG.

Barnes: 10.7/1.6/3.9
MKG: 8.5/0.9/5.1

Barnes puts up 2 more points on lower efficiency and lower PER, while being on a better team. Besides Barnes is a year older and has a 2-dribble handle. Wing players who lack handles never become stars (note: Wiggins). MKG will probably never come a star either but he is already a quality defender and will eventually become a high quality glue guy.

MKG is also a full year and half younger than Barnes.

The one that cares enough about the game that he took the time to actually learn how to shoot the basketball

Paul George didn't have handles when he came into the league so..

For every George, you have nine Corey Brewer's. George is the exception, not the norm.

Handles can be improved, but only so much. These players have been playing basketball for 10+ years. It wouldn't come as a surprise to see that not everyone in the NBA has improved their handles to Chris Paul levels.

MKG without any hesitation.

MKG's ceiling: Pippen
Barnes: Jefferson

Barnes is better now, but i'll take MKG. Barnes is good enough already that he'll get a good contract after his rookie deal is up, MKG will be less expensive and has a much higher ceiling.

I'm a hustle homer though.

I like both but MKG's defense is better than barnes but if you put barnes on that charlotte team he would bring more W's to the cats. If you put MKG to the warriors he would fit perfectly because he can learn from iggy.

With that said FREE HARRISON BARNES!

I like MKG and can see him developing into an excellent glue guy down the line, maybe a Marion type player even. But right now give me Barnes due to his superiority on offence.
I do love MKG's defence and hustle, not even mentioning he is the first dude to stand up for his teammates which is a big intangible for me.

Every Bobcat lineup that has logged a lot of minutes without MKG has hemorrhaged points this season. Even by the eye test alone they turn to crap on that end every time he sits.

Barnes on the other hand didn't do anything for the Ws as a starter this season except pile up losses.

The way to improve Charlotte's crap offense without sending them back into record loss territory is ditching McRoberts for an actual starter quality four.

Was hoping the bobcats take drummond. I'm only saying that MKGs upside is higher than barnes. But Im fine with the Wallace comparison and hope he could do a Paul George leap next year.

Barnes is overrated. All that hype from his high school days is still clouding people's judgment when they analyze him. He's a good player and will be for a long time, he could even be an allstar someday if he plays like he wants it. But he really hasn't shown that he deserves the hype he gets yet. He's been nothing more than a role player so far.

I think what player you select depends on your team's needs. I think MKG at this point in their careers is the more impactful player, but he obviously plays on a team that needs him, whereas Barnes is like the 4th or 5th option on GSW.

I appreciate what appears to be genuine high hopes as a fan but

Paul George would be a Mount Everest sized leap for your boy Michael...

Personally I think the Warriors are holding Barnes back.

I never saw him in HS or college, but from what I've seen in the NBA he is very skilled. His offensive game is one of the most polished in the league and I think he could be at least better than Rudy gay given an opportunity as a scorer.

Can I pass on both? If forced I probably go with the guy who is the better shooter. Which means Barnes.

George has taken leaps every year of his career to get where he is. Following that pattern of improvement is what he means.

Every team would love to have a high end role player like MKG.
Not sure every team would love to have or could use Barnes.

Give me MKG.
His offense will come in time.

You think he would help the Sixers?

Lacks range from 3pt, not a good midrange shooter. What do you like?

I agree, he needs to be on a team where he is one of the focal points of the offense.

I should have said any good/playoff team.
But yes he would help, just not as much as Barnes in that situation. Philly needs talent, not role players.
I like his motor, his D, his rebounding and physical tools.

your oblivious to what he did in the playoffs. its all hype right now that you don't like him cuz he's been having a bad couple games. trust me, if he was starting instead of iggy like last year, your reply would be completely different.:facepalm
