View Full Version : It's Official: Kevin Durant is the best player in the world

For me, it's sealed now, Kevin Durant is the best player in the world right now, at the start of the season, I was still saying LeBron is number 1 and that Durant has to do more to even get close, but after the recent performances and LeBron coasting, Kevin Durant has taken over,

You just can't ignore the numbers, not to mention he is carrying his team without his second option,

LeBron can claim it back come playoff time, but right now it's clear.

So congrats Durant, you are no longer #2, you achieved what you set out to do, enjoy being on top because you deserve it.

Nothing is official in the middle of a regular season.

If you want to be the best, you have to accomplish something, not just score a lot of points in January.

That's the modern generation for you. Do something better for a month or two, and you're automatically at the top. Let's at least wait until the end of the season before making such bold statements.

Accomplish what? A title? LeBron was considered the best in the world without a ring

Not necessarily a ring, but at the very least he has to dominate the second half of the season as well + have a strong playoffs performance.

A lot of players have had single months as least as good as what Durant has going now. One month isn't enough, you have to do a lot more than that to be the best.

Durant averaged 30 points in his first finals appearance.

Much better than other stars first finals of course.

He has been solid since the season started, this month he just turned the heat up even more, basically the MVP race started out even, now he has run away with it,

I'm not hating on LeBron tho, I said he can claim that title back, but you can ignore what Durant is doing.

I'm not ignoring it. Durant has clearly been the best player so far this season, but it remains to be seen if he can keep it up.

If he can't keep it up, LeBron goes back to number 1, but it would take a catastrophe for it to go real bad for him.

The dude is on a mission, you can see it

As arbitrary said, this whole thread is worthless and should be deleted. This is the 20th thread today about the same topic. Focus on making original threads.

It sucks because Kevin Durant is totally on the heels of Bron's prime, even more so than Bron was on Kobe's.

Two years from now it's gonna be interesting to see what the best in the league landscape will look like.

I know some people want to dethrone Lebron with all their hearts but is it lost on ya'll that Lebron is actually doing 25/7/6.5 on 58% while coming of back to back championships? He has figured it out, with IT meaning success in the playoffs.

Let's wait and see, Durant will sooner or later be #1. Let's not shove it down people's throats just yet. Lebron just turned 29, he's not 34.

Nah. By the time LeBron falls from #1, Paul George and possibly other will be decidedly better than Durant.

well if a player who only scores 8 points in the finals can be the best player then why cant durant who scored 30 ppg in a series?
