It's no coincidence that he was practicing his post moves against the Bobcats :lol

Not much of a clinic and it's not fluid but Lebron certainly has improved. At least the guy isn't getting befuddled after the first move is cut off. 2 years ago he would have switched his pivot foot and thrown up some garbage.

lebron built a great post up game by getting easy looks, hook shots, and shots right at the basket. thats how he beat up on the pacers, not by using a fadeaway.

Those were well made shots and MKG defended Lebron solidly. You also have to credit the rest of the Bobcats for not helping well enough in the first and 3rd plays. The Heat do a good job of providing spacing. Lebron came quite a ways from the time Tony Allen embarrassed him.

You could probably use a bigger sample size than few 15fps gifs (OP:facepalm ) though. MJ would not look fluid in that.

Anyone who has been watching LeBron in the post regularly this season can't say he is not fluid.

Umm, yeah. Sporting News recently did a piece on it, with stats and comments by scouts and everything. LeBron's been the league's best post player this season and really, one only has to watch the games to see how good he has become down there.

LaMarcus was posting up Tim Duncan the other night and looking damn good. I was impressed with his footwork.

i don't consider a fadeaway a post-up. up and under, hook shot, baby hooks, layups, dunks all after backing down his man are the real post up moves. fadeaway is a jumper. it's a cop out from a failed post up.

If he is better and more skilled in the post, he should be at least be somewhat close even though he is posting up bigger guys (and he is bigger than LeBron too), shouldn't he?

I think Aldridge shoots to many midrange Js and he is not much of a finisher.

Even Dwight has higher FG% from the post

It's all subjective, LaMarcus faces tougher defenders in the post, they are more physical, I'm not saying numbers aren't everything but to use them to suggest LeBron is better in the post is silly, look at the people LeBron posts up.

I read the article, yes his numbers have gone up, it means he is doing the right thing, but just because that one guy says it does it mean it's true? Jefferson, Cousins and David West primarly score from the post, so naturally they have higher chances of missing shots there, doesn't mean it counts against them just because they are posting up tougher competition.

Lebron has improved his Offensive game since coming into the league, no question about it. But that being said he's still not much to brag about in the post, and his mid range game ain't all that either.

Turnaround jumpers out of the post are NOT IMPRESSIVE. Anybody can get a turnaround jumper off out of the post. These are, ironically for LeBron, the least efficient shot you can get out of a post up.

I don't care how it looks, if a post move gets you an easy shot at the rim, or an OPEN jumper, it's a great one in my book.

It really isn't.

Bron won the 2012 finals from the post. Hes been one of, if not, the most unstoppable post player in the league since then. Hes the most efficient scorer down there in the league, and factor in his height and passing ability, and hes seriously one of the best post players down low.
Which bit is disputable?

Bron was always a pretty efficient scorer down there regardless of the gifs people post. Now hes more interested in getting down there more often, and hes got a variety of moves he uses. Hes one of the best, if not the best at getting post position and sealing his man in the league.

Oh wow :oldlol: :oldlol: :lol :lol  :hammerhead: :hammerhead: :hammerhead:

Get this guy some help. It's unhealthy to be this delusional..

As already posted a few pages ago, statistics clearly point towards him as the most effective post scorer in the league today. Then you have an EC scout merely reaffirming what facts and the eye-test show -
"He is the best post-up player in the league, really," the scout said. "You used to be able to get him to take jumpers in the post, but now he is smarter, he is able to get by you and get himself an easy basket. It's a nightmare. He is that much more efficient."

Now, take a look at a few aspects of James’ post game over the last four years — the frequency with which he would go to the rim out of the post, his overall efficiency (points per possession) on post-up possessions and his rank within the league in post efficiency:
Season To rim PPP Rank
2010-11 13.7% 1.043 4
2011-12 14.9% 0.959 5
2012-13 15.0% 0.972 4
2013-14 29.6% 1.185 1

I can see why haters are so mad. Factoring in LeBron's size and passing ability, he has a strong case for best post-up player in the NBA. Just watch the games. Teams now instantly double him when he gets the ball down low. Heck, Bobcats the other day were doubling him in the post even when he was simply fighting for position.

Opponent ppg doesn't tell the whole story, dumbass. You gotta look at opponent FG% too among with other stats. Obvious Pacers is right, their opp FG is at 40%. However, look at Knicks. You really think they're the 10th best defensive team in the league? With no tyson chandler the whole way while Amare and Bargnani is in the middle? Then you look at their opp FG and you see 46%.

Contrary of the 7 seconds dantoni offense, if a team uses 22 seconds for every offensive possession, naturally their opponent ppg will be low. It that considered good D also?

Perhaps you shouldn't be so simple minded, no?

I don't know what you're talking about as I just looked at the last page and saw you saying the East is much better defensively, and you backed it up with those stats. Which I am taking apart now.

Like I said, if a team takes 20 second for an offensive possession, their opponent ppg will naturally be low as well. Also, if two crappy east teams play each other and both lack scorers in their teams and the score ends up being 70-71, that doesn't mean those 2 teams have great defense.

Hopefully I've made this clear enough. Opponent PPG does not convert to "best defensive team"

i guess this is why miami always prefers playing western teams. Offense is always more open against most western teams as compared to against eastern teams.
If durant can be the mvp leader based on half a season then lebron can be better post up player based stats of half a season.

Implying the east isnt one of the worst conferences in a while. Theyre also going up against better offenses out west. The west has 8 out of the top 15 defenses, and ALL top 13 offenses outside of Miami. East has all bottom 7 offenses.
