I thoroughly enjoy watching the NFL. Probably just as much as I do basketball. Hockey and baseball equally not as much. Probably right there with soccer.

What are you even talking about? I'm certain basketball has more clout than baseball.
Pretty much NBA/Basketball has always been near the bottom internationally. MLB/Baseball has always been the one popular American sport internationally. It's what America has been known for that other countries may have taken an interest in.

Its something that is hard for some people to accept generally because they may not like MLB/Baseball. Like its hard for some NFL fans to accept no one cares about NFL/American football until the superbowl.

Sherman went up to Crabtree like 5 seconds after the play and technically the game wasn't over yet and gave him a pat on the butt like he just sonned him. Of course Crabtree isn't and shouldn't be okay with that.

With that said, as a 49er fan, I hate Sherman and hate him even more for that. But that's just the fan in me really. Given the intensity and trash talk of the game, just how long afterwards it was, I don't really blame him.
Is that what Crabtree said, After the game Sherman tried to son him? You're making a big assumption.

I do think Sherman talks just for self motivation, entertainment and to increase his value and face time.

I really do think (unless crabtree says otherwise) Sherman went up to him to pound it out because it was just entertainment. Crabtree's reaction made it real and took Sherman over the top.

No it hasn't.

Basketball IS and has been, since the late 80's, more popular internationally. Especially overseas.

Baseball, while played in many (often small and poorer) countries, just doesn't have the clout or appeal basketball does. Today? It's not even close.

He had a 4.0 gpa in HS, and scored 1400/1600 on his SATs. He's a Stanford graduate. He's well spoken, but ultra competitive. He talked trash, and backed it up. I really dont get the hate about the interview at all. It was right after an emotional, hard fought championship game.

Smart people acting like this isn't rare, so I wouldn't say he is dumbing himself down. Why should Sherman have to prove his humanity to people? CEOs and whole boardrooms have been known to act silly after big deals(snorting coke, screaming for hours etc.) but no one cares. Emotions get high at certain points when you are competing. But, nothing that happened necessitated the response we are seeing. Quite frankly, the responses but from guys like Iggy and the racial slurs are far more telling than the actual incident. That sherman interview was one of the most disgusting displays of classlessness in the history of sports

I was a proud and loyal Seahawk fan. I cannot stand behind what Richard Sherman did. I was with the whole family celebrating the game when he started getting interviewed. As he started with his blood curdling yells, I had to instinctively cover my young daughter's ears. She instantly started screaming and crying and questionably coughed blood all over my carpet. I couldn't believe what I was hearing. My wife started yelling, "NO! NO!!" at the TV in absolute horror and disgust and also questionably started vomiting blood all over the same carpet. I tried calming her down, but I couldn't speak over the sudden oncoming of tears rapidly falling from my face. We had to turn off the tv. After I went into the bathroom and threw up myself for 20 straight minutes. We burned the Richard Sherman jersey we had in the backyard, sold our seahawks merchandise to some Mexicans in the area and even went to the extent of banning the word "seahawks" from our household.I don't even know if I can stomach watching the Super Bowl after this.

From this day forward starting next year I am officially a 49ers fan and a broncos fan for the remainder of this season.

The Seahawks have ruined my family.

players have won soccer world cups and talked in a classier way. this wasn't even the super bowl.
Just because you have low expectations from someone who is talking on the tv doesn't mean everyone does.

He could have easily have said players have won superbowls and responded in a classier way. He's insinuating that soccer players have more class than Sherman. If you're going to get on a soap box and act all high and mighty then he'll rightfully get called out for it. Then he has this classic gem below:

okay. then don't expect me to call him intelligent for doing that. if he has to behave like a savage to play good defense then be happy with being a savage. he makes a lot of money and i am sure teams wouldn't pay him less for that interview but i am sure even his own coach laughed at that video.

Behave like a savage? all off a post game rant? He talks yet follows the sport with the biggest piece of shit fans in perhaps all major sports.

I dont buy that at all man, you are basically making things up.

He was saying that athletes have been interviewed after much bigger achievements on much bigger stages and handled it a lot better.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TRjBhbH3y38He sounds like a dumb stan. Resorting to attacking instead of answering the question.
That video is totally edited in a manner to make Sherman look like he's going at Skip for no reason. They cut out most of what Bayless said. Also, I may be wrong, but I believe that was the culmination of several back-and-forths between these two guys on various media platforms, during which time Skip predictably insulted Sherman's game. Then, when faced with the man one-on-one, he took on the role of victim to the mean football player.

I'm not a fan of the way this Sherman narrative is playing out. The post-game interview was funny initially, but not a big deal at all. Emotions run high on a football field. The guy was put in front of the camera seconds after making the best defensive play of the season and he's a highly emotional guy as it is.

People will cry about robotic, canned responses until one guy has a real moment in front of the camera... then, it becomes clear why athletes go to such lengths to be vanilla.

This is a ridiculous overreation (Iggy included). It's not that serious.

Reminds me of the awesome Cuban appearance on first take. Exposed Skip
