Hi, this is Jeff, typing on my phone. The smart thing to do = research the company extensively. Know what they do, what they don't. Do your homework in advance. Take notes, even.

I'm sure a chap like you is experienced with interviews and the process. Just remember to be confident and in a talkative mood. Good luck brah

Here's a link that helps me with ideas for the generic questions they ask you

Is it for senior analyst position Niko?
Good luck on your interview.

It's A VC3!!!

If it's not too personal and intruding, what position is this for? As others have said, just be yourself, confident and knowing the company helps. Also, tell them that you're a Nets fan. Since the Nets are the premier basketball team in New York and have more fans than the Knicks (as evidenced tonight at MSG), you will gain a lot of bonus points.

remember if you start to get nervous whip it out. Experts usually say it's a good backup option to fall back to if you don't have good answers.

The Nets stink too (albeit much less than us), you've just rewritten the script on what is acceptable. I find that hard to do. Maybe at some point i will and we'll slide into 8th and ill have a party.

I will do my best everyone...thanks...

The Nets record is bad but they are not a bad team like the Knicks. The Nets are a good team. Anyways, this isn't a Nets thread so no more rumbling about the Nets from me in this thread.

Hey. Just got home. I thought it went well, I was a very good fit for the position, and with the people I met with. There are more people being interviewed, then in 2 weeks (always takes long) they will call back for 2nd so I won't know before then.

Will update when i know...

Nope, I'm consulting right now. I have two jobs, about 30 hours though only total. Clearly a permanent position that paid better and had good benefits would outweight that.

BTW, the only way to avoid ever being unemployed is not to work. Companies go under, have problems, shit happens. Life is different once mommy and daddy don't send the checks or you don't work sitting at a pc in daddy's garage.

You working part time at a fast food joint or something?

I'm surprised you don't have any connections. Hell, I'll be able to get by easily in life because of my parents.

Some just aren't as lucky. I wish you luck though.

It's always like that. As you know, companies need to close budget gaps come the end of the year, so freezing the new hirings is always one of the first measures. The beginning of the year is always the best time to look for a new job. Anyway, best of luck to you.

Yeah, waiting is definitely the worst. I'm actually waiting for a call back about a phone interview I had for a position in NY and it's torture. Sounds like you will have other opportunities to pursue that will help distract you.

I had an interview at Warner Music and they told me "we will get back to you in about 5/6 weeks. What? And everyone always says they need you to start right away, but the interview process takes weeks and weeks and weeks.

Wow, 5-6 weeks is pretty crazy. Don't think I've ever had an interviewer tell me anything beyond 2-3.

I got a second interview! Don't know when yet, the HR person called really late and then wasn't around. Fingers are double crossed now (Or maybe twice as many are crossed, double cross sounds bad.) Back to preparation!
