Even a past his prime Shaq held his own against the younger centers in the class of 2000's.

Shaq out played Bogut and Howard who were both 13 years younger than him.

Well in fairness most of the 90's Centers were on the downside of their careers as the 90's was coming to an end (Dream, Ewing, Robinson, Sabonis, Smits), so those "career" head-to-head numbers don't paint the entire picture.

That said, I have Shaq #8 all time. He was the most dominating big man in modern NBA history (ie; post merger).

Kid Shaq 20-24 yrs.old put up good numbers against these veteran NBA Centers.

It's kinda very difficult to defend Shaq 1 on 1. and Hakeem didn't destroy him in the NBA Finals. His teammates underperformed besides Penny Hardaway.

I agree; however that still doesn't change the fact that Shaq was entering his prime years (late 90's) when most of the great 90's Centers were in decline, so that skews the "career" numbers you posted, is all I'm saying.

A young Shaq was already outplaying Hakeem, Ewing, and Robinson. A prime Shaq just shelled them.

Title makes no sense. I don't see Wilt's, Russell's and Kareem's names in here.

Jesus Christ :lol

Would love to see him go at it with Gilmore and Wilt.

Wilts superior length, and athleticism would give Shaq a lot of problems. Would be the most difficult person for him to back down/ score on no doubt...but shaq was a bulldozer, with those thick ass legs and size 22 shoes hes built better for that style of play. Not sure if he's stronger than Wilt, but that extra weight makes a difference when it comes to pushing around for position.

Shaq is top 5 all-time and the most underrated top 10 player. He arguably has the GOAT peak.

Yao gave Shaq fits when they played.

Shaq would've slayed Wilt though as the latter was not as skilled as Yao.
