View Full Version : If Brooklyn wins the Bynum sweepstakes, are they the darkhorse???

They seemed to have figured it out (how to win). They are much more comfortable with each other and somewhat seem as if they have an identity.

They recently made a move to clear a roster spot so they can sign another player, if it's Bynum, what do you think of their chances?

No hate please

Makes sense if they sign him only for the rest of the year. How much can Brooklyn offer him?

Nope.
Edit: Well, maybe. There isn't really a dark horse since no one is beating Miami or Indiana.

Not sure how much they can offer but I'm pretty sure prok will make sure he made it with his while lol. I guess why I believe something can be happening is

1. Brooklyn owner is not settling and has proven his is willing to spare no expense on this team

2. The Bynum front has been extremely quiet though he has been clear to sign with a team

3. The nets making a move to free a roster space coinciding with the fact they lost their starting center for the year

The starting center is KG and they have Blatche and even plumlee. Don't need that cancer as a distraction to blatche

Maybe its just me but I wouldn't even waste the money on Bynum. He seems like hes a locker room problem and lacks passion. Wouldn't even bother if I were them.

they got a disabled player exception for Lopez's injury, its almost 6 million i believe. thats also about the same amount of money Bynum lost from being waived

Seems like they're getting it together. AK47 seems to be the difference maker for the them lately though. Not exactly someone I'd want my playoff hopes to hinge on.

If it was 2011 Bynum, yeah sure.

I say go for it. Try him in practice, ask iso-Joe, Pierce, KG and Deron what they think of him at practice after two weeks. If he's an ass, waive him

Nets are winning because they have pierce at the four and Shaun at the one. You bring in a center and the dynamic changes. Like the nets as is. I say keep it like this.

Nets could become the 3rd or 4th seed but they would still lose to Nate Robinson in the 1st round

But unlike the Knicks at least they would get there

Bynum is a cancerous douche, stay away from him

The Nets aren't a title contender, dark horse or otherwise. They are beating Indiana or Miami in a playoff series?

Nets are 5 games under 500 in a horrible conference. If you want to tell me they are the clear 3rd best, ill bite. If you want to tell me 7-1 in 8 games means title contender ignoring the 11 games under prior to that, sounds silly to me.

With a little bit of tinkering (including Bynum playing like an all-star) and KG's playing time coming up, I think they could beat the Heat in a series, but there's no way they beat Indiana

Lebron coasted till late third quarter, with no Wade, Battier or Chalmers, and it took till OT with Lebron fouling out for Nets to win. We know he's not fouling out in the playoffs, and we know they are not resting Wade, but Nets are winning 4 times?

Don't see it.

i don't see it either. sometimes i wish fans could just accept a situation for what it is.

the average sports fan is like a tribal warrior, but back in tribal days, surviving and prospering was victory in itself. there was no championship of 'you must beat all the other tribes in the area' AFAIK.

sports is like intentional neurosis in some ways.

I'm not saying the Nets would beat the Heat but you shouldn't even bring this up knowing the Nets played without Deron AND Brook. It was a fair game given those circumstances. You act is if we won a handicap match despite being without two of our stars.

Brook is not coming back and Deron takes away some of the advantages you are currently playing with now. You didn't win a handicap match but that is not playoff Miami Heat. It's completely different. Night and day. I only mentioned that game because people are holding it up as something meaningful.

The topic asks is the Nets are a title contender and I think that's ridiculous. Sorry...
