It's tough, I think. Neither duo really peaked at the same time.

Kareem's prime ended in 80 or 81 depending on who you ask, while Magic's started a half-dozen years later; Kobe might've entered his during the threepeat as Shaq was on the way down, so they had 01 in common.

If it's both pairs at their bests, I think Kobe and Shaq win (since Magic would be more helpful in an open-court game than 2-on-2).

Peak Shaq and peak Kareem is a really tough decision, but I'd have to give Shaq the slight edge.

Kobe and Magic are both incredible offensively, but defensively Kobe blows Magic out of the water. At his best he was a legendary perimeter defender.

Prime Kobe and prime Shaq is just unfair.

Hmmm...a 38-39 year old KAJ, and way past his prime, averaged 33 ppg on .621 shooting over the course of ten straight games, against a young Hakeem, which included games of 40, 43, and 46 points...

and yet a prime Shaq's high against a fading Hakeem, was only 37 points.

Kind of makes you wonder what a KAJ, circa 70-72, would have leveled Hakeem with...as well as Shaq, don't you think?

2v2, loser buys pizza and beer? I think Kobe and Shaq could give Magic and KAJ one hell of a game, good chance of beating them. Kobe is a better scorer than Magic, and Shaq could possibly score as easily on Kareem as Kareem could score on him.

That said, I would take Magic and Kareem to anchor a team over Kobe and Shaq. Magic needs people to pass the ball to, and is at his best with four teammates on the floor. Kareem is straight up money when the game is on the line. JMHO
