View Full Version : who wants to see the Heat vs. Thunder II in the NBA Finals again?

The 2 best players in the NBA again battling out in a 7 games series. Lebron James and Kevin Durant have a great rivalry. I hope the Pacers and Spurs won't spoil it.

IDK. I feel like the Heat sill match up favorable against OKC, and it'll go to maybe like 6 games....maybe 7. :confusedshrug:

What I really want to see is Pacers vs Heat III. Round 1, Pacers took em to 6. Round 2, Pacers took em to 7. What happens in Round 3? :pimp:

Also, a GS vs OKC playoffs match up would be very, very entertaining.

They are developing a Magic (LeBron) v.s. Bird (Durant) caliber rivalry for the stakes of the league / best player very reminiscent of the 80s but in modern packaging.

It's great for basketball, great for the league.

It's the rivalry that we thought we were being sold in 2004 w/ LeBron v.s. Melo. I'd love to see the sequel to Heat v.s. Thunder. It's what I'm hoping for honestly.

ECF - Heat v.s. Pacers part III
Finals - Heat v.s. Thunder part II

Is LeBron really better than Paul George though?

LeBron will be obsolete by next year. The Heat will just be too old.

I'd like to see George/Durant since that's what it's gonna be by next year anyways. Heat flop too much in the finals, not a fun thing to see when you're supposed to be watching high level of basketball instead of bush league tactics.

But wouldn't mind Heat either for the simple fact Durant will destroy them again but likely won't get shit on by the officials and will get better support from his teammates.

Still not a fair matchup considering the stacked nature of the Heat.

Team sport.

It's not individual player vs individual player. It's team/coaches vs other team/coaches

....

Compare KD and LeBron on their first finals performance and then compare KD and LeBron after their second.

KD is clearly a better player than LeBron and KD hasn't hit his prime yet.

Then he should have no problem lifting his team over the Heat if that is indeed true.

The greatest tend to do that sometimes even when they're out talented by another team. Kobe's done it, Duncan's done it, Shaq's done it, MJ's done it.

Bird and Magic didn't because both teams were equally loaded. If OKC kept Harden, it would've been more than fair footing between the two talent wise.

Pacers have a better shot of ruining this matchup then the Spurs, who haven't beat a good team in forever.

I do like the thought of a Pacers/Thunder finals..if we don't get that this year we certainly will next season.

If Paul George was as good as LeBron is, surely you would obsess over him the way you do LBJ. As for the question in the OP, the only people that don't want to see Heat/Thunder II are those with no souls. That matchup has potential like none other.

Heat v Pacers III then Spurs v Heat II are the best matchups.

Heat Thunder II would be another walkover for a Miami threepeat.

People need to stop thinking the Thunder are the same young immature kids that they in 2012. Their best 3 players are all much improved, have a better bench with shooters while Miami are different too. Mainly Wade. Are they are tough match-up for OKC? Of course but Durant in this form they stand as good a shot as most against Miami in a series.

Much higher chance Oden gets in foul trouble than Hibbert.

problem is that pacers' defense relies on hibbert while miami knows that oden can't play for more than 15 mins. at most he plays 20 mins. if he makes hibbert commit 3-4 fouls in that time then he has more than done his job.
even if not foul then just contain hibbert for 10-15 mins. hibbert is not really good offensively. as long as heat keep hibbert to 17-18 ppg for the series, pacers will have a hard time extending series to 7 games.
Wade and bosh can do this too if they are agressive. Lebron is tall and built like a tank which makes refs swallow their whostles when he goes against hibbert. wade because of his height and bosh because of his size could make refs give favorable calls. just like durant gets calls that carmelo or lebron don't get when going to the rim as he looks weaker than both and more impact is seen on contact.
bosh and wade were the ones who put hibbert in foul trouble in their last meeting.

No good offensively? Hibbert is made to look like prime Kareem against the Heat. If Oden is mobile enough he can certainly make him not look as good as he normally does but how much impact Oden will have remains to be seen. I

how am i wrong that hibbert is not good offensively? he looks good against heat for the obvious reasons and that is why i am confident that even current oden can do a good job on him for 15 mins a game.

Current oden? I think current oden would get 3-4 fouls in the matter of minutes against Hibbert. He may not be elite offensively but he is soild enough to average 15-20 a game in a series even against other teams. He has skills inside.

Heat-Thunder part II of course... but also Pacers-Thunder and Heat-Spurs part II (last year's series was one of the best ever, but I'm not sure the circumstances that made it so will be there this year).

That's 1 player bro. They lost Westbrook and Harden. The team that they had back then was better than the team they have now.

Yea KD going off now but that's gonna slow down in the playoffs
