In light of Kevin Durant's stellar play in January, let's have a look back at other amazing streaks in the past:
1987 Michael Jordan:9 Straight Games Scoring 40+, Averaged: 41.6ppg, 50fg%, 5.7rpg, 4.0apg
1989 Michael Jordan: 7 Straight Triple-Doubles, averaging 30.6ppg, 11.6rpg, and 11.0apg
1997 Allen Iverson: 5 straight games over 40 points, averaging 43.6 PPG, .51 FG%, .48 3PT FG%, 7.4 APG, 4.6 RPG, 1.8 SPG
2003 Kobe Bryant: 9 Straight Games Scoring 40+, Averaged: 44.0 ppg, 50fg%, 5.2 rpg, 3.4 apg, 2.56 spg
2007 Kobe Bryant: 4 Straight Games Scoring 50+: 65 points, 50 points, 60 points, 50 points, and 43 to end the four straight 50+ game stretch.
Highest scoring months ever:
1962 Wilt Chamberlain 50.0 ppg in January
1963 Wilt Chamberlain 46.3 ppg in January
2006 Kobe Bryant 43.4 ppg in January
Other notables:
2003 Kobe Bryant 40.6 ppg in February
2006 Kobe Bryant 41.6 ppg in April
2007 Kobe Bryant 40.3 ppg in March
Wilt Chamberlain (11), Kobe Bryant (4) and Elgin Baylor (1) are the only players in NBA history to ever average 40 ppg in a month. In case you were wondering, Michael Jordan's highest scoring month is 39.0 ppg in April, 1988.

The most ridiculous thing about this Durant streak is not his ppg, but his efficiency, and the fact he's also averaging 6 apg(for an off the ball player no less) during it.
37/6/6 67 TS% 132 ORTG in January. It's one hell of a hellacious streak and he's doing it against great teams. Although I really wish Jackson would stop going ISO so much. Durant would be over 40 for the month if Jackson deferred to him more.
But you want absolute domination?
Durant is scoring 37.0 ppg on 67 TS% in January. The rest of his team? 62.4 ppg on 48.7 TS% in January.

1962 Wilt Chamberlain 50.0 ppg in January
How is the highest scoring month only 50.0ppg when he once averaged 50.4ppg for an entire season?

I'm mistakenly took Chamberlains highest January average for his highest alltime. Unfortunately I cannot find any other data on Wilts highest monthly average. Please let me know if you do.

Any way to find Oscar's best streak? Dude averaged a triple double over a 5 year (i believe) span... I'm sure he had some ridiculous weeks or months.

Whats pretty ironic about these streaks you posted is that not one of these players made it to the Finals the year they had any of the said streak...:confusedshrug:

The difference with Durant is he has a all-star coming back. Those players teams just sucked.
no pun intended

Not as impressive as Wilt, Kobe, or Jordan, but just wanted to mention Amar'e Stoudemire's 9 Game Streak (11/28/2010-12/15/2010)
34.4 PPG
10.8 RPG
1.8 BPG
59.4% FG%

MJ holds the record for most consecutive 10+ point games at 866, he didn't score under 10 points from 1986-2001, when he played for the Wizards. Just a fun fact.
Chris Paul holds the record for most consecutive games with at least 1 steal, 108 games.
Wilt holds the record for most consecutive triple doubles, at 9

Wilt in his 67-68 season...
NINE straight TRIPLE-DOUBLES (and who knows how many QUADS had they officially recorded blocked shots)...
and in those nine straight games...
26.7 ppg, 23.7 rpg, 12.2 apg, and on a .710 FG% (missing known FGA for the last game of that streak.)
BTW, in the last seven games of that streak...
28.4 ppg, 24.1 rpg, 12.9 apg, and a .726 FG% (again, missing FGAs in the last game.)
Oh, and in the three games before his nine straight triple-doubles...31-21-15, 22-19-13, and 38-28-9...on a combined .655 FG%...
so he was ONE ASSIST away from TWELVE STRAIGHT Triple-Doubles...and in which he averaged a combined ...
27.6 ppg, 23.4 rpg, 12.3 apg, and on a .694 FG% (with one game missing.)

Chamberlain had TWO separate streaks in which he had 14 straight 40+ point games, and in those two streaks, he averaged 53 ppg and 54 ppg.
And as a sidenote, later on that same season, he had yet another streak in which he scored 351 point in five straight games (58, 61, 65, 67, and 100 point games)...for an average of 70.1 ppg.

What about Wilt's career-long streak of never fouling out?
Is that necessarily a good thing (perhaps he didn't play aggressive enough at times because he didn't want to foul out)?
Or an amazing streak that showed his control?

OP Please include Wilt's streak of 7 50 point games in a row, it is (still) the NBA record.

Wilt rarely faced any fouling trouble and it would be interesting to have known his blocks/PF's ratio. In his first 4 seasons, he only commited 5 fouls 4 times.
In 1962, there was a stretch when he commited a total of 5 fouls in (at least) 432 minutes of play.

You could probably count the number of times Wilt 'got in foul trouble' on your hand, it was never a problem of aggression. He just was not prone to fouling. And he was a force defensively, and offensively in spite of it.

Korver's streak is getting pretty ridiculous.
Korver's streak is very impressive.
How about: Oscar Robertson. Averaged 30ppg/10.4RPG/10.6APG from 1960-1965. Yes, he averaged a triple double for 5 seasons straight.
