Sadly KD's stats will decrease when Chuckbrook comes back. And he's likely to get exposed against playoff caliber defense like how he got exposed against Memphis.

31/7/7 in 43 minutes tho which isnt impressive and Lebrons defense then wasnt anywhere near elite
He wasnt better than Kobe, Dirk or Wade. Dirk carried a worse roster to the finals and the only reason he wasnt higher in MVP voting was because he was a 7ft white jumpshooter. Kobe no explanation needed best in the world. Wade went ham in the playoff.

The Cavs won 50 games for the first time since the 1992 NBA Season. The Suns won 54 games without Amare. And the Cavs were also 23-7 against the West.

Really cause Lebron is BY FAR the most polarizing figure in the NBA(love him or hate him) so there goes the theory of people not caring. As far as Best Durant is playing like Rocky going after apollo with the Eye of the Tiger while LEbron is Coasting and Conserving til the Games Really mean something. If U can't understand that your a moron. Durant has played lights out no doubt but LEbron Brings more to the table so don't confuse best Player with Player who is playing the best or better yet is the hottest. Oh and BTW Miami is FAAAR from stacked they are small and and have guys that are past there prime. U saw against Brooklyn,NY and Atlanta not to mention close victories against average teams this team like Lebron is on cruise control but they are not dominating cause supporting cast not good enough to do so unless playing at the top of their games.

Durant is likable and the better player.
He will have a lot more fans than Bron. America already agrees with me.
Why would people care about a guy who lolly gags through the regular season? That's what you're saying right? He's 'coasting' ?
That's another HUGE negative on his resume'. Durant is playing his ass off night in and night out and willing his team to W's in a much more competitive conference.
If the Heat don't win it all this year it will be an epic fail. They have by far the most talent/experience top to bottom, in the worst conference ever, and their players will be fresh because they're not even playing hard.
Wade and Bosh will get killed if they're not able to lead their team to the ship this year.

whoever thinks Durant right now is better than LeBron is fcking retarded. one is going all out every game trying to set records and become relevant, while the other one is just coasting and trying new things and still has all-time great stats on GOAT efficency. also LeBron has upped his scoring in the last two weeks and he will contnue to do so and finish season with 27-28PPG on 58%+ FG,40% threes and 7 APG, 7 RPG. BOOK IT
Durant will finish with 30PPG on 50% and 4 APG,8 RPG.
will be very equal numbers.
Durant still deserves MVP because he gives more effort right now but thinking hes better than LeBron James is borderline insane:biggums: :wtf:

yeah the same country that voted bush for president 2 times:cheers:
Kobe was better from 05-08 with Duncan, Paul and KG being in the mix
LeBron and Kobe were pretty evenly matched from 08-10
LeBron has been better from 10-current
Starting next season is when Durant can fully establish himself as the best player
Peak Kobe might not have been as dominant as LeBron but to be fair if LeBron was running up against peak kobe, TD and KG than it might be a different story.

I feel like the LeBron is John Cena or Justin Bieber to the NBA... he doesn't have that old-school competitive mindset.
He cares way too much about his image and has low character.
Great talent but never been a fan of his. Durant being the face of the league is best for the NBA moving forward.... I think even you would agree with me here.

Durant won't sustain as "face" of the NBA for long. I'm seeing Anthony Davis as the next big thing. Durant is merely transitional superstar.
Btw, this is a Lebron thread meant to appreciate Lebron's dominance throughout the years. We have enough Durant threads.

Lebron's a pu$$y ass pha99ot. Needed to join two superstars to win a championship only to choke against Mavericks, team full of Players who should be retiring. What's more? He almost choked 2013 finals only saved by his team mate Ray Allen. 1 championship in Cleveland > 2 of his joke championship in Miami.
OP is a pha99ot too much like his idol lebron. Lebron has only been the bestplayer in 2012 and 2013. His soul was owned by Kobe. He purposely lose 2009 ECF to duck Kobe. He knew Kobe will school him. He wants no part of the embarrassment Kobe would show him on national TV.
The league was dead when he's getting his asteriks trophies. Everyone in motha****in America and the world knows that his trophy is cheap. Full of asterisks. Big fckin Asterisks. He was the laughing stock of the world in 2011. Choked big time. Lebron James is the greatest bullcrap story that has ever been told.
Put Lebron James name beside the likes of Larry Bird, Magic Johnson, Michael Jordan, Kareem Abdul Jabbar, Kobe Bryant, Shaquille O'Neal. It would be the biggest comedy ever told. Lebron's name doesn't fit in. It's pure comedy. Great way to make yourself laugh if you're sad.
All real basketball fans are starting to enjoy basketball again. We're lucky we have our savior Kevin Durant. Kevin Durant will save the NBA from LeFraud James. 2011 - 2012, 2013 - 2014 NBA didn't exist. No Champions were crowned during the said period.

The ****? :oldlol:
Was Kobe even Top 5 in 2004 and 2005? I'd say barely in 2004(trailing Shaq/TD/KG) and definitely not in 2005. His reign as best player was 2006-2008, with 09-13 being LeBron, although I certainly wouldn't call him the best in 2011, and 2012 is debatable.
As far as this season's concerned, Durant's obviously having a better season than anyone, but I'll wait for more of the season to pass before deciding on whether he's better than a fully engaged LeBron.

Child please. 2009 and 2010 I'd give it to Lebron due to Kobe coasting in the regular season when Lebron was in a similar situation as Durant, 2011 clearly not the best player, he wasn't the best player on his own team, not to mention the Finals series, 2012 and 2013 you can give it to Bron, 2014 is Durant's year.

ban for speaking the truth? Even you Lebron fans know that his championships were cheap. Compare him to the real legends, MJ, Kareem, Bird, Magic... his name would be a laughing stock. Put Kobe's name with those guys you have another legend "RESPECT". Lebron doesn't get any Respect from "REAL" basketball fans because he pu$$ied out on the biggest stage, the grandest stage where legends are born with bright lights shining on him. Instead he joined 2 superstars, then Choked again. Win 2012, but WTF, no real basketball fan cared, did someone cared for him? no! ahh yes, His fans, pansy fans. People know that he didn't win honorably. 2013 he almost choked again, only to be saved from being the laughing stock of the world again. Courtesy of Ray Allen
Respect is earned not given. Championships is earned not given. Your hero is the vice versa of those. Given not Earned.

Considering he is the most recent title and MVP winner AND considering his individual performance this year is not HUGELY removed from Durant, you have to consider Lebron to be the best until Durant wins big. IMO.
People who say Durant is the best now, are jumping the gun quite a bit. The bigger, more relevant piece of the pie is the playoffs, where the data at the moment is obviously not available.

No, Lebron in Cleveland was generally excellent in the playoffs, playing with (at best) a C-level cast.
No one in history has won a title with such a mediocre cast.
There are marks against Lebron (the Mavs Final being the biggest), but that is true for every legend of the game.

Magic had his "Tragic Johnson" failures.
Jordan had his "Bad Boys" failures.
Kareem needed rookie Magic to win big.
Kobe had his 3 straight air balls, 6/24 game 7, quitting against the Suns.

Calling LeBron the undisputed best in 2005, 2006, 2007, 2008 is pure convoluted, stanhood logic.

Kobe was still dominating playoffs and winning championships in 09 & 10
D Rose won MVP in 2011 and Lebron chocked in the finals.
12 & 13 for sure but the rest are debatable

2006-Kobe, Dirk, KG and Wade were all better
2007-Kobe, Dirk, Timmy, KG and Nash were all better
2008-Kobe, KG, CP3 were all better
2009-Tossup between Lebron and Kobe
2010-Hard to say
2011-Dirk was easily the best player in the league he killed everyone, Wade was arguably better than Lebron
2012-Lebron was the best
2013-Lebron was the best

Kareem? Shaq? Bird? Magic? don't they get some credit?
They do, as fellow 1st tier legends. But the clear cut above-and-better-than-everyone players are MJ and Lebron James.

I don't think there have been many players as dominant as Shaq, LeBron is a one in a lifetime freak of nature like talent though, but there are so many great players that have played in the last 50 years, it's hard to single 2 out like this. MJ is clear #1 tho.

I would draft MJ and Lebron over Shaq anyday. Hell I'll take Duncan over Shaq in a draft.

Duncan over Shaq???? Really?
I would.
His peak was obvious way better, but Tim has the career consistency and ability to develop his players.
Not to mention Shaq couldn't get it done with teams better than any of Duncan's championship teams.

When I look at Shaq, I see Demarcus Cousins' attitude and mental flaws. Wasted potential is all Shaq is.
Lebron, MJ and Duncan will at least guarantee loyalty and stability to any team.

Wasted potential??? We can just agree to disagree here, the cases I can see for Duncan are longevity and work ethic, but Shaq was a beast.
What about Hakeem? he was one of the greats in the past 50 years, the greatest post player we know.

Shaq could've been a 8-9 rings talent. He underachieved big time.

He has 4, so thats not too bad, he could have won more, which is true, doesn't stop us from talking about how dominant he was though.

Give Tim Duncan what Shaq was born with and see him dominate like Bill Russell, ending up with at least 8 rings. Shaq had all the tools and gifts in the world, but that mentality held him back.

These threads will only multiply if this is the start of the Durant era.

Thats all hypothetical tho, end of the say, Shaq had those tools, and he still achieved a lot given most standards.

Well at least he led his team to a very impressive 3-peat almost single-handedly too.

Sadly KD's stats will decrease when Chuckbrook comes back. And he's likely to get exposed against playoff caliber defense like how he got exposed against Memphis.
Are you being serious? You do realize his last playoff run with a healthy Westbrook was pretty damn good, right? So why would this version of Durant, who is noticeably better in every facet of the game, get "exposed" against playoff defenses this time around with a healthy Westbrook?
And I'm not reading all 11 pages of this thread, but did anyone else call out the OP for being a TonyMontana alt? Because TonyMontana made this exact same thread with the exact same title back in the summer.

Westbrook was arguably the better player in the finals series against Miami. Dat 43 pt game 4.
