This is what will happen. At this time last year Durant was a lock for MVP until LeBron won 27 in a row. Durant will break down in tears and announce his retirement. You heard it here first

:lol Yall are stupid. Durant wasn't a "lock" at this point last season, but he sure as hell is now. And with the Heat resting Wade a ton, there is no way Heat are going on a 27 game win streak.
You lost. Your boy isn't #1 anymore. Get out of the Denial/Anger stage and move on.

Hope Bron keeps this in mind Wednesday:cheers:. This'll really tell if Lebron is a top 10 player or just a pretender that had his 1 year of top of the mountain basketball. An up and comer is quickly taking Lebrons torch and Brons only had it for like a year. Will he put up a 20 point shitty performance whilst getting outplayed by Chris Bosh and Durant or will he score 60+ like Godbe would do?:rockon:

It's called a representative sample dude:
http://edis.ifas.ufl.edu/pd006
You don't need to ask everybody to have a reasonably small margin of error. Unless there's a sampling bias, and those who voted are more likely to be those who would pick KD, it's accurate enough.
BoutPractice
01-23-2014, 04:32 PM
The real bias is not in the sample, but in the date. The answers you'll get to that kind of question are heavily affected by what just happened as opposed to the long run.
Take the 2005-2006 season. If you asked people who the best player in the league was on January 23 2006, they would've almost certainly said Kobe (that's right after the 81 point game for those of you who don't remember). If however you'd asked them who the best player in the game was on June 21, 2006, they would've said Wade. Then at some point in 2006-2007 they'd have said Kobe again, and then maybe they'd have said LeBron after the Detroit game only to change their pick during the Finals...

I suppose, but the common denominator here is stans. Brutal bunch, all of them. I liked Shaq when I first started watching (he got me into the league), appreciated Wade for a while, and now I've moved onto Anthony Davis, but some of these guys go over the top. This shit is like a depraved free-for-all.

34% of American understands scoring isn't the only thing that matters. You can't score 50 a game in the playoffs. When Durant isn't scoring he's not playing the defense, rebounding or passing the ball like Lebron. He certainly can't guard the players that Lebron guards.
I don't understand what's wrong with Durant being the second best player in the world? Isn't that good enough for him? He's still great. Just not Lebron great. Lebron proves it every time when it matters. He destroyed the Thunder in the Finals.

ISH is so dumb it doesn't know the difference between Florida and Miami...
::shakes head in shame::
As far as a 42000 person sample, its plenty big enough. But since it is not a random sample at all but a sample of willing participants it means almost nothing scientifically. For instance, if FoxNews put up a survey on their website asking if people were going to vote Dem or Rep in the next presidential election you would get a 96/4 R/D split. It hardly means our next president is going to be a republican.
