Well he did have Westbrook, Harden, Ibaka, and a good overall team. It's not like he's carrying scrubs right now, or has been.

Durant is the best player in the world, as of now, but....

1) LeBron may change this during playoff time, depending on how many of these "coasting" rumors are true. A lot of people might act like Durant's the best, and as of now he is, but LeBron could very well shut us all up in the playoffs.

2) His team employs the worst starting Center in the league, among the worst shooting guards, and their second best player has very serious, recurring knee problems. His team is far from set for a deep playoff run. There are others (Miami, Indiana) with much better supporting casts.

So what you're saying is, you have no belief in Durant being able to lead a team with another top 5 player, a top 5 PF and a solid supporting cast to a chip?

Being the best doesn't mean he has the most stacked team. A lot of times the league's best player doesn't win because they aren't in the right situation. Durant's not going to team up with another top 3 player.

Pippen was in his 4th year in 1991....

And Durant didn't win because he was a one trick pony. 6 rebounds and 2.5 assists... while guarding Chalmers who dropped 25 on him. Lmao.

Don't know why i even bother, out of this thread.

Honestly, the Thunder own the Pacers so much they might be able to beat them even without Westbrook. That'd truly send these LeBron dickriders into meltdown mode.

That's how you know Durant's not the best player. Even his own stans have no faith in him. They know Durant's not making it to the Finals, and if he does he'll get exposed as a one-dimensional player like he did in the '12 Finals.

I agree with Ibaka not being a top 5 PF, but IDK why not being in the top 5 doesn't makes him great. Same thing Westbrook. If he's not top 5, he's in the top 10 still. It's not like Durant plays with scrubs. It doesn't discredit him either. You don't win alone.

2012: Lose to Lebron with a top 3 SG (Harden), top 3 PG (Westbrook), top 5 PF (Ibaka)

2014: May fail to win a ring with top 3 PG (Westbrook), top 5 PF (Ibaka)

You can read my post on the first page if you want my opinion, but Ibaka top 5 PF? He's better than Bosh, Aldrige, Love, Duncan, or Griffin? Not even close, he's in the David West tier.

Westbrook has very serious, recurring knee issues that are more serious than anything Wade has gone through in the last few years.

Sefalosha and Perkins are possibly the worst starters at their positions.

It's very clear why they may not win a chip.

He's capable, but there's no reliable 3rd scorer come playoff time. And Brooks is a terrible offensive coach who makes few/poor adjustments. They had Harden, replaced him with Martin, and are now relying on the collective effort from guys like Jackson and Lamb

Jackson has been tearing shit up though. He's better than the PGs LeBron has won with.

If Durant is better than LeBron, he should be able to win with the same help or less, no?

Honestly, OKC's stacked. Ibaka is one of best rim protectors in the league, and can hit a jumper from anywhere on the floor. Westbrook is a superstar. Reggie Jackson is easily the best back up point guard in the league. And Derrick Fisher, as of late, has been looking like 2009-2010 'bailout Kobe' Fisher.

If OKC doesn't win the NBA Championship then Kevin Durant will forever be in the league of Carmelo Anthony.

It's a shame, all this talent and potential and he doesn't even have a MVP or NBA Championship. KD is basically the same player as last year except he just shoots more.
