Melo deserves it. He's a good player individually, though his team is not doing well. But it's not his fault. He still plays as well as he's been playing these past few years, his production hasn't really dipped, it's more of the same as last season. His teammates have been underachieving and their chemistry sucks. Half of the roster doesn't even want to be there but they have immovable contracts so they're stuck there, and it's hurting their overall production.

Kobe doesn't deserve it based on his play this season, and he himself came out and told the fans to vote for Lillard and other young studs that have upped their play this season so it's not his fault that he got voted in. Fans are the ones that picked him despite him missing 35+ games.

I thought Kevin Love was a bit of a shocker as a starter, but then again Dwight isn't having a strong season either, it's more of the same what he did last season for us, only that he doesn't get so much attention and he went to a playoff team without them giving anything up in return.

Honestly, they need to do something with the all-star weekend. This format has died out.

When I think of who "deserves" to go, I vote by how coaches vote. If that is the case, Aldridge would be in above Love. Aldridge is consistently in the top 5 MVP rankings this season, yet isn't an all-star starter. I don't care as much about starting snubs as I do all-star snubs though.

Yeah, somebody deserving wasn't getting in. IMO, the lack of a playoff spot or winning record of the team compared to top 4 seeds is the deciding factor when this many players are beasting as individuals. I'm not mad though about Aldridge being the 1 that actually got left out. Aldridge will get selected by coaches and Blazers are winning, so I'm happy.

this year in the west is a mess due to injuries and the east has no dominating center.......and i hate people who just award winning teams with 3 allstars or wutever. If you put up monster numbers especially in the ridiculously competitive west you should get consideration. Don't matter how good you are you cannot carry a team of scrubs to win, and also good role players on great teams don't deserve all-star over great players on shitty teams imo. (especially teams they got drafted to)

Kobe is the obvious first choice. He's barely played this season. Aldridge and Love should be the West bigs, Griffin should be a reserve. DeRozan and Wall should be the East's backcourt with Wade/Irving off the bench.
