You guys are overreacting way too hard over what Melo accomplished tonight. Yes, I applaud him. Congratulations Melo. But geez guys, the Knicks still suck and Melo will go back to being bad in the next game.
Also, I'm sorry for this thread. This is not something I do and I don't like raining on the Knicks parade. Enjoy it Knicks fans. But needed to make this thread.

This year they're a playoff team and one of the better defensive teams in the league.
The performances aren't even comparable

C'mon, I like you, but
- Bobcats were pathetic back then, solid defense now.
- Massive levels of butt hurt
- Deron is washed up.
- Melo is averaging 27/9/3 on 45/42 shooting, starting the all star game.

Brandon Jennings.........55 points
Damon Stoudamire.......54 points
Michael Adams............54 points
Tony Delk..................53 points
Willie Burton...............53 points
Jamal Crawford...........52 points
Charles Smith.............52 points
Mahmoud Abdul-Rauf...51 points
Vernon Maxwell..........51 points
Chuckers get hot. Now granted Melo, a chucker himself, is a lot better than the above listed players which is why he got 62 points in less than 4 quarters...but my point remains...chuckers get hot. Melo is a 43-44% shooter this season. Sometimes you get hot...and if you are a chucker you are using the unsustainable strategy of chucking every game, but sadly you usually are not hot.

Thanks. Overreaction is the name of the game for most fans...and people in general. They remember the 50 point nights, but forget the much more numerous 35% shooting type nights...also they remember how many points were scored, but forget (or ignore) the amount of shots it takes to get those points.

Dead serious though.
Jameer: 13.5 - 6.7 - 3.7 - 2.6 turnovers on 40/36/88
Deron: 13.4 - 6.8 - 2.2 - 2.7 turnovers on 47/40/78
Raw stats are basically the same with the slight edge probably going to Deron. But then you factor in the fact that Jameer will be healthy and Deron is going to miss half of his games with ankle troubles, and that Jameer makes an overpriced but affordable 8.5 to Deron's max.

He was traded here and didn't even play right away because of a sprained ankle. So that's false
Wow, what a bitch move this thread is. No wonder the Net fans hate you. I saw that Deron game, that was a Deron that gave effort once every 10 games, and still I sat there and rooted for more points. Because to do otherwise is so lame.
You know there was a poll about which event people in NY wanted to see this weekend. Nets KG/Pierce return to Boston was one of them. It was behind the Knicks (like 1/30th of the people), it was behind the Royal Rumble, the Pro Bowl, Every Hockey Game, and "i won't watch any sports". :lol
Since i don't have another forum to rant, this was the first time I realized how psycho and lame some Kobe fans are. They really are honestly mad that he beat Kobe's number at MSG. That was important to them to the point it makes them now hate Melo. I'm really confused. If Lebron score 85 tomorrow I'll be rooting for more, not hoping he trips because i'm anti Heat.

VC should have at least pointed out D.Will had 7 assists and thus was directly responsible for at least 71 points. Melo had 0.
But Charlotte is a much better defensive team now and it was a blowout.

There have been 17 60 pt games in NBA history. SEVENTEEN. When there were 20 threads about JR untying shoelaces i didn't see your "let's not overreact here". Yet you needed to do one about Melo? On one of the SEVENTEEN 60 pt games in history?
It was a whiny thread that felt like pissing on another fanbase because you're insecure about your own team. Period. You should be embarrassed.
Note: You posted about 10,11 threads in the offseason more excited and more overboard than any Melo thread about the title that your Nets were going to win this year, a situation that was not and is not happening. But you thought people needed to calm down about something real?

That's because I don't make a thread in response to 99.99% of the overreaction threads by the idiots on this board.
And had D-Will not had a 57/7 game against the same team, I would have never made this thread at all. That's the main proponent. I had hoped at least one person in this board was intellectual enough to notice that. I guess not.

Brook Lopez is dominant.
It's unfair how good we are.

Anyone who watches a great NBA moment and wants to shoot it down because it makes them insecure about their own team is sad. Deron got major props for that game, he didn't get props for scoring 60 because he didn't. Can we give Melo 8 more and call it 70?
