My problem with it is that the ref who called it was behind PG and didn't have a clear view of the "foul", on an incredibly important play

Literally no contact.
This. Dat ref already doing the foul action movement before he's in the air.

That's how it's supposed to go. The star will have an opportunity to tie/take the lead in the end. Nice script. Ty NBA.

Pathetic. Seems like he always gets the call down the stretch.

I want to pre-face by saying I do not believe I support the foul call. However, I think the gif begins shortly after the suggested contact was to have taken place. All that may mean is the continuation on the faux contact was bogus. If I had to guess as to what the officials thought they saw, it was the right arm of the defender impeding George's movement around the screen (before the shot).
Again, I'm not saying I support the call, just pointing out the gif may be missing where the contact was supposed to have taken place. It's maybe best seen from the opposite baseline cam in this link: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=B9-jXuPHi2I

not defending the call, no contact on the shot, but derrick williams was handchecking him the second he came inbounds. if you want the benefit of the doubt you can't play that way. Still, the foul (if any at all) shold have been called on Williams before George got around the screen.
Again, not defending the call, but when you play defense like that, bad things happen and the whistle goes against you. Anyone who's played organized ball has had this type of call go against them.
And no the ref wasn't in the best position, but how would you react if the ref on the baseline or other sideline blew the whistle? It HAS to be that ref to call that. The others refs would never think of making a call from the other side of the court, so that argument is just silly.

Meh, Kings shouldn't have been that close to begin with. Surprising how they needed a miracle 4 point call to even have a chance at beating one of the worst teams in the league missing it's 2 best players.
no pun intended

lol the NBA is bullshit. Refs decide games.
you should know
Paul George has been bailed out by a literal phantom call on three seperate three point occasions. One of which was in the playoffs. :facepalm
This is why I laughed when Pacer fans were complaining about call not getting that call on Lebron when he shot that three.

It wouldn't be a big deal if it was the first time, but George seems to have a habit of getting these calls.

So much hatred for an "overrated manufactured superstar team". I don't think we Pacer fans are worthy.

It's the same thing everyday on ISH.
One team loses and becomes overrated.
One team wins and becomes amazing.
One player has a great game and becomes best in the league.
One player has a bad game and becomes trash.
Rinse and repeat.

so did these ***** refs apologize?
Bad calls but some of you are some little girls. Dude explained it best up above, if Williams wasn't playing that lazy ass D on PG with the handchecking, there would not have even been a CHANCE that foul is called.....does that explain how the Kings were blowing the Pacers out the entire game and allowed them to come back and win? Does it change the fact the Kings starting PG shot 31 times and only made 13 of them with 5 turnovers, effectively taking every one else out of their rhythm? Does that explain with the Kings had 80 points between 2 players and nobody else on the team has more than 7? Does that explain that the Kings were out assisted 25-14? Or maybe it was the fact the Kings at 18 turnovers or they shot 32 three's and only made 12. Or maybe it was the fact that they shot less than 40% from the field...Nah, couldn't have been any of those, it has to be a conspiracy for.....get this.....the freakin INDIANA PACERS, rofl..The team who's fans have been thinking their was a conspiracy against us for all these years...and now we're the cheaters, lol...I could see if it was tough fought game from beginning to end and this play happened, there would a lot more fuss. But being up close to 20 points for most of the game, and you're gonna blame the loss on 1 play? Ok.
Its funny, during the offseason and the beginning of the season, all I saw was everyone jumping on the Pacers bandwagon, oohh this team looks scary, ooohhh this team looks like they could win a title...Its like you're making up for the fact that most of you never watch the team and you wanted to be on the "I told you the Pacers were the best" bandwagon...Now they're 34-8 and receiving the same amount of hate that the Heat do, Paul George, Lance Stephenson and Roy Hibbert are most overrated and manufactured stars in the league and the league is cheating for the Pacers, lol and we've never won anything....ISH is amazing I tell you..
It was still a bad call doe. I expect the league to apologize.
no pun intended
01-25-2014, 04:54 PM
they won't apologize because it was a game-tying attempt rather than a game-winning attempt
in the first scenario, the team still has a chance to lose in overtime
It was still a bad call doe. I expect the league to apologize.
I agree....
