Paul Pierce and Kevin Garnett will play the Boston Celtics for the first time this season. The Celtics have prepared a tribute to them before the game. This game will be worth seeing.

ESPN at 6:30 p.m EST.

Hopefully Pierce isn't to emotional to play well.

Much of this forum is too young to remember what Paul Pierce went through before the Celtics traded for KG.

There's so much history...ups and downs. It's emotional to think of the journey.

Pierce had to deal with Rick ****ing Pitino and Chris Wallace, two nightmares that still haunt me even today. It was a dark age for Celtics fans. Thankfully, Danny Ainge saved the day.

They should have put this on Tuesday or at 8. This game feels like it should have more juice, it's like its not on.

- Ugly game offensively for both teams, but it stayed close to keep things interesting.

- Sidenote: KG has a beautiful wife and a cute kid.

This was a very messy game from start to finish for both teams. Every team has one of these nights but at least the Nets pulled out with the win. My post-game reaction.

1. Time to start Deron. I don't know Kidd's intentions but it's not a better long-term goal to keep bringing Deron off the bench. He needs to start and get accustomed to playing with the starters again.

2. Mirza really frustrated me in this game. He went 1-6 from three and just kept chucking and chucking with no emotion. He needs to start expanding his offensive repertoire to more than just hoisting a shot every time he touches the ball. I also want to see him start boxing out because he gave up a lot of offensive rebounds in this game.

3. Tomorrow night is a big game and with DeRozan out, the Nets cannot let T-Ross and Lowry have big nights. Either way, Nets need the win considering they play the Thunder and Pacers in a back-to-back later in the week.

Some of the Nets post-game notes are that they are mad that they lost last time vs. the Raptors and that tomorrow is "personal" and a "revenge game". I like that mentality by the Nets and hope they can actually hit their shots tomorrow and on the other end not allow the Raptors to make threes.

The only thing is with Deron, at times he just really reminds me of Marbury, it's not that he doesn't pass, he passes off his own offense. When he does that, it reduces the role of JJ and Pierce, which I don't think is helpful. When they are out there, it might benefit him to give them the ball and play off them, especially in half court.

Kind of agree. JJ was having a great month before D.Will came back.

He is going to start sooner or later and I will be very glad to see Anderson out of the starting lineup. The first unit needs more offense but I still want to see D.Will play with the 2nd unit as he has good chemistry with them

I expect a lot of the 3 point shooting to come from Ross and Lowry, but I would rather see them go inside as much as possible. A Raptors team attacking the basket from the beginning is much more effective. It also depends if Ross can handle the 2nd option scoring and not go out of control like he did late in the 4th quarter.

It has a making for an ugly game, indeed. Even if Garnett plays, I don't think he'll be that much of a factor. The Nets losing to us last time was by 16 points and that was because of the defensive intensity for a good portion of the 3rd and the rest of the 4th. If Garnett can make jump shots, then it will help the Nets a lot, but it would still be a struggle offensively for both teams.

If the Raptors stay within the team construct, they can win.

KG's impact isn't measured by hitting jump shots. With KG on the floor the Nets are five points better defensively than the Pacers defense. Without KG, they are on par with the Utah Jazz. I'm not saying we necessarily need KG to win but even at his age he is an impact player.

Let's be realistic here. If you asked anyone in the world that isn't a Raptors fan, what was the main reason the Nets lost, they would say because they played a 2 OT game against the defending champs the night before and didn't get into Tornto until after 4 o'clock in the morning and they were missing their most important player in KG. No offense, I'm just telling it how it is.

The Raptors rank #1 in overall offense and #2 in overall defense since some 20+ games into this new team. They also have the best 4th quarter differential, Top 5 in both assist/turnover and rebounding rate%, and we have yet to be at full strength since Jan 1.

Now again, DeMar DeRozan missing this game is huge and the Raptors need to make a long of planning for this one. If anything I've learned about this team, is that they don't fold. I said Garnett needs to make jump shots, because our defense is elite all through out the league, not just whenever specific player is on the floor.

I didn't see he wasn't an impact player, but it's clear that it's defensively which will be a problem for the Raptors offense, but our defense will always keep us in the game.

http://ca.sports.yahoo.com/news/pacers-win-3rd-row-beating-024623164--nba.html

Because of the snowstorm that swept through the Midwest on Sunday and the frigid temperatures that delivered a second big blow to Indianapolis on Monday and Tuesday, the Raptors (16-17) were forced to stay in Miami two days longer than planned and didn't arrive in town until about five hours before tip-off.

And despite not even going through their usual pre-game rituals, game planning, and probably wouldn't even have been at the game... the Raptors lost by 6 points. There are teams that just give better effort and only 3 players had it going all night on offense.

DeMar DeRozan is our 2nd best player, top scorer, and some even consider on par with Kyle Lowry, if not better at times. What's your reasoning going to be if the Raptors win the game tonight ? I'm expecting the Nets to take this, since really, they've been talking about how "personal" and this is a "revenge" game for them. At least they respect their opponent, unlike some of their fans.

Don't take TheJKidd's post too seriously. He's too insecure about the Nets losing. The Raptors beat us fair and square last time. Nets were up by 10 with four minutes left to go in the third and entered the fourth down 3. That's inexcusable but a credit to the Raptors resilience. I just hope the Raptors to end our five game winning streak for the second time in a row.

that raptor game was BS. We all kno we woulda won by double digits in the first half alone.

In b4 nets take raptors by 22 with JoJo dropping 32:eek:
