Unless they can get some real stars back in it they better just not do it. Star power enhances everything, and that will make up for the fact that it's becoming increasingly difficult to come up with new and original dunks. Let's face it, a 360 windmill gets the crowd going ten times as much if it's Lebron or George doing it instead of some scrub that has played 15 minutes of worthless action on a shitty team. How amazing it was when Jordan, Wilkins, Dr.J and Drexler were all doing it in their prime.

Dunk contests aren't even dead. That recent high school contest absolutely shits on the last few contests. Just need to end the props and make people truly innovative instead of relying on gimmicks that come across cheesy.

Please God...no gimmicks or props or Kenny narrating... just let them dunk some balls and let the judges score it. Keep it simple and the dunk contest will be back. A ****ing simple windmill with power beats jumping over a painting with glowsticks and a stupid outfit or wtv the hell these idiots come up with.

Make it college vs pros and bring up Zach Lavine and Andrew Wiggins

Or make it an open where sponsors put up money against NBA players

I was encouraged by last year's adjustments (six competitors, very limited props, two rounds). Though, I'd still like to see judges judge every round, as opposed to making the final round a fan vote.

Kyryl Fesenko

Seeing as it's goind downhill every year, this might be possible.

LeBron isn't afraid to enter. He just has better things to do.

Bran's participation is contingent on Giannis' participation. He won't enter unless he is going to win.

Fisher would take that if he jumped off Kia.

Whatever the case it'll be low-budget players probably because superstars are too scared to do it anymore in relation to hurting their "brand". Which is some cop-out bullshit.

It sad because the last few years I've hated all-star weekends because nothing means anything anymore during that time and it's time away from competitive basketball.

I hope lebron join this year's dunk contest. Win or Loss. I think his fans and NBA fans are gonna enjoy it. He'll likely win because it's a popularity contest.

If they go with 3 East vs 3 West again:

Terrence Ross
Victor Oladipo
Lance Stephenson

DeAndre Jordan
Ben McLemore
Harrison Barnes/Jordan Crawford

Thought? And again, the addition of LeBron would be great but probably won't do it.

There were reports that both John Wall and Damian Lillard were invited to participate in the 2014 NBA Slam Dunk Contest but recent rumors suggest Wall is close to declining.
