Dominated college, albeit in a meh conference, compared to the likes of Carmelo Anthony and Kevin Durant and #2 pick in the 08' draft. No real accolades thus far in his career.

an example of why it doesn't just take talent to succeed as a pro ball player.

I'd say it's been a disappointment if only for all the sideshow antics much of it his own doing. All in all he's found more ways to sidetrack his own career then most players his age. It was all there waiting on a platter and.... nothing, zip nada zilch

It has been a success, he is a pretty darn decent ok player and averaged 17ppg one season.

Much, much more was expected of him.

This. Nothing in the NBA is guaranteed. It hasn't been bad and if this year he helps out the Heat in the playoffs, it will be a good career and he still has what, nearly a decade or so left.

He's only 25. I'm sure that he'll play for another 10 years.

I remember when a lot of people said he would end up better than Durant before his rookie year started. Boy was that ever wrong..

dissapointed in the 12 and 13 season.

with the right mind, more work and less partying he would be an all star and franchise player. people forget this guy was a beast in college 26 ppg on 53 FG% and 12 rebounds in 33 minutes for 33 games

You know who also was a beast in college?

Adam Morrison.

He is a unique case, a number 2 pick traded away to allow Miami cap space, and has now ended back at Miami and is playing pretty solid ball.
His off court stuff was the main issue, seemed to effect his on court play. Still could end up being a fantastic player.
TBH he could average 20ppg right now on some teams, but Miami can afford to play him as an efficient role player providing an offensive spark.
But by being a 2nd pick that has been waived by a team, he has somewhat tarnished himself.

Poor work ethic killed him. He got new life this year, once again in Miami but if he doesn't suceed now, he never will.

Like Somebody wrote it takes more than Talent.. Hard Work, Dedication doing right things off the court are big part of it.. Lok at Lenny Cooke dude at one point was rated higher than LEbron back in HS and he never even played in the NBA cause of poor attitude,Not working hard, Drugs(wrong people around him)..

He dominated against poor competition on college. He was a beast in college level, had it been under old rules he could've made the jump from HS.
But as people said before me, takes a lot more than talent to be a star in the NBA and Beasley didn't put enough work to make it.

And Beasley is an undersized tweener. At 6'7" (6'8.25" in shoes) he dominated the much smaller collegiate players. Beasley also had an attitude problem, and terrible work ethics in his first few years in the NBA.

He just turned 25 yrs.old, And he's been a solid 6th man for the Heat.

I hope the resign him in the off season.

Christian Laettner too.
Laettner was a good pro before he got injured. Certainly better than Beasley will ever be.

If he had a license to chuck he would be posting numbers like Melo if not better.

I even remembered some forum members (not this one) saying he would make a better pro than Durant. And based on his freshman year compared to Durant's it's not entirely far fetched.

IMO for most players just being rostered by a team is a success.

Beas was just so nasty in college everybody expected him to become an elite player.

He's an OK to good player. :confusedshrug: Not too disappointing.

I always thought he has been played out of position his whole career.

He is a PF, not a SF and making a player learn another position usually makes them worse than they were projected to be.

His rookie season as a PF was pretty good. By making his a SF he lost all of his advantages and I don't see how coaches aren't seeing this.

He was also playing like an allstar before he got injured playing for us so he certainly is good enough.

Do you think coaches want a undersized PF who can't guard his position and chucks way to much to get his points.

Go back and watch him be the #1 guy for Minnesota and you'll see this guy is a ball stopper when given the chance.

Im a Wolves fan and I saw him and Love play very well together.

His defence has gotten a lot better as well.

Disappointment Scale: 5.4/10

Given the hype and elite college statistics.

It's not like he hasn't somewhat produced, he's put up 19.2 ppg 5.6 rpg 2.2 apg .7 spg .7 bpg on 45% shooting

Hopefully he's taken a turn this year in IQ, understanding the game and efficiency.

I'm not a wolves fan but whenever I saw him he wasn't doing good, not with Love or without. He just took the ball at the mid-range wing, jab jab jump shot and other inefficient moves that usually resulted in him not getting to the rim.
