He's declined steadily each year since 2009. He has very solid games from time to time but the consistency and reliability just isn't there anymore.

This is a copout. He had many sub par playoff games last season and in the years preceding last season's playoffs. It's becoming harder and harder for him to raise his game on cue and this was to be expected. His body has taken a huge toll and his knees are beginning to fail him. The criticism levied at Wade is completely legitimate.

Yes I know he's declining. He's my favorite player, and it's sad to see. I'm not expecting consistency, but I expect him to have big moments.

Wade does not ALWAYS show up in big games! Any objective Heat fan knows this. Game 6 of last years Finals was a big game, yet in the 4th quarter with the Heat down double digits Wade was riding the bench while Lebron and a bunch of role players got the Heat back in the game. Also as well as Wade played in the 2011 Finals he was a no show in that game 6 elimination as well.
Wade shows up in some big games, but not always like his fans try and claim.

The did that while playing on a knee that required surgery.

he still has a little left in the tank
The chances of them winning a championship with the way he is playing (and not playing, literally, missing games injured) is not big.... he is extremly important because if you exclude Lebron (or when Lebron is on the bench) then you are basically looking at Bosh's Raptors (with an older Bosh), there is nobody else who can make winning plays on that team....
Miami gives only the hallucination of them being "stacked" simply because those 3 names are known.... but the truth is 2 and especially 1 of them aint playing up to their standards, not even close... and the rest of the squad they have is just... guys.... its no big pool of talent... they heavily depend on the "big 3" producing up to their standards to overcome their lack of size, rebounding, bench production & everything else....
The times they were winning big & comfortably during the regular season, 27 game winning streak & so on those 3 guys used to all drop at least 20-20-20 with little effort.... this season i dont remember seeing even a single game like that from them....
We shall see how things turn out in the playoffs
He's entering TMac zone now where it's just sad to see him play after seeing him dominate for so long.
LeBron has to leave Miami unless he wants to carry a team all by himself again like in Cleveland.
Wade will show up in big games like he always does.
Wait, so you're telling us Wade is hiding brand new knees in his closet ready to use whenever he feels like it?

But, he started declining in 2012, not 2010. The best ball he ever played in his life was the 2011 Finals until Brian Cardinal took him out in Game 5 (thanks again for that series, King, aka Durant's bitch).

You're right, goddamn does it suck watching him these days. Flash used to be one of my favorite players to watch. Someone already mentioned it, he's entering the post-Rockets TMac stage of his career.
I know First Take is mostly bull****, but recently they were talking about how him retiring after this season is a legitimate possibility. While I don't think that's happening, the fact that it's even a serious possibility is pretty concerning. His knees must be messed up beyond repair.

Enough with this clown though. Wade is still capable of having big nights but he's just not as reliable as he used to be. He is resting a lot during the regular season so hopefully he has enough in the tank for at least another great playoff run.

He has improved his midrange a LOT. Shooting only 2.5% worse than KD from the mid. Also, have you seen the guy in the post? He's arguable the best post player in the league currently.
@TheGreatRaptor, I don't think a 19/5/5 on 54% player would take anything less than 10-12 million a year (that IS a massive pay cut though).

Wrong. As much as Shaq wanted that nickname to take off, that NEVER became his nickname. You had fringe moments where in Shaq's first year there in Miami people try to run with it, but it didn't work. Instead, his nickname became "D. Wade."
But point taken, there was a reason Shaq called him Flash a couple times.

Wade is on pace to play 60 games this year and if we're to believe the talk, he'll start playing more after the ASG.
Kobe shot 43.5% from the midrange in '11 and Wade is shooting 42.7%. Oh and Wade is shooting 54% overall.
I'm not saying current Wade = '11 Kobe. Just saying that he's still a star. The Heat staff are just trying to make sure that his knees hold up for the PO's. Hence, he's playing fewer minutes and fewer games.

Oh lulz I don't know Kobe's age so I just thought you were talking last season as Kobe hasn't played a lot of games this season.:facepalm
Something you are not saying is that Wade didn't shot a lot from midrange compare to Kobe as most of his shots come from layups, and Kobe doesn't even drive as much anymore, specially in 11 when his knees were just fucjed up. I remember in the playoffs he said he only had one dunk on his tank. At the time I felt like the end of an era. And then he went to Germany and well he came back better since 08.

This season, he has been shooting about the same from midrange and at the rim. Even last season, around 40% of his shots were from the midrange (although his shot was off).

You mean when Wade hooked his arm and pulled him onto the ground for no reason? Yeah there was a fracture. The local Boston reporters and pre/postgame crew talked about it a few weeks after it had happened.
Semantics aside, if you pull someone down like that and f*cked their arm up. You broke it whether you broke the bone or not.

Rondo wrapped him and pulled Wade backwards. He's obviously gonna try and hold onto someone and in this case, Rondo. Rondo is a punk and tried to hurt Wade. That's not the only time, btw.
Source? Because I remember the X-rays coming negative for a fracture after the dislocation. I don't think it's possible to break a bone a couple of weeks after the initial dislocation.

Nobody is young forever and with Wade's game premature age is bound to happen. Still one of the greatest sg's of all time and a top 20-25 player to me. His game in his prime was the most pleasing aesthetically that I've ever seen. His mix tapes are easily the best of any other player.

wow, aren't you a salty little bitch.
Don't know why people are surprised he's been taking it light this regular season: he has a missing meniscus, and only has so many minutes left, and probably always has at least some pain in one of his knees. He will munch some painkillers and still put up some big games in the playoffs, he just needs to pick and choose his moments, his body won't allow consistent brilliance any more.

I read somewhere that Wade had a good midtrange and bankshot before shoulder injury. That he used to shoot with an arc before the injury but now shoots it flat.

43% from midrange is a good %. He has been a good mid-range shooter most of his career, with a couple anomalous seasons along the way.
LeBron won't stick with wade as his second option. I don't think wade would pick wade as his own second option. It was great while it lasted. Too much attacking the rim.
