It's true, the guy isn't unknown, he's actually quite popular compared to many others in the Marvel Universe, and in some circles he's part of a cult following, but probably one of the lesser known X-Men; to my knowledge he's never been featured in the films (I haven't seen them all, so maybe I'm wrong here). He's always been my favorite of the group.

If you, me, anyone feels any character is "underrated" and they're one you "like" as the thread title suggests then it's all fair game and there's really no right or wrong opinion. You could make the argument Wolverine is underrated because he's "hated" on so much because of his popularity; so in that sense even the great Wolverine can be underrated, even though it doesn't seem logical at face value.

If Wolverine can be underrated, surely Gambit can. You're so far as to say Gambit it too well known to be underrated, another poster agreed, so now he's underrated, LOL.
