...Because I KNOW how much folks on here appreciate Lebron James, I figured I'd share this terrific playmaking mix featuring the King.
This is just an appreciation thread, but I will say in regards to the Durant/James rivalry, I don't think KD could complete 10% of the passes in this mix.

I still say KDs a better passer. Lebrons a turnover machine, only decent at drive and kick outs.

Totally agree.
His break away dunks, rare facials are nice too. His jumper isn't too ugly. Sometimes he has really nice handles too. My favorite LeBron passes:
Thread the Needle in Playoffs v.s. Washington (2006)
Fall Down, Behind Back in MSG v.s. Knicks (2011)
Cross, Behind Back, in Playoffs v.s. Sixers (2011)
Full Court Pass in Olympics (2012)

I don't think KD could complete 10% of the passes in this mix.
Only a handful of players in the league can and none of them are 6'11 forwards :lol
I think Durant has improved immensely as a passer/playmaker this season. In the past whenever he was faced with a double team or collapsing defense he would force some ill-conceived shot. But nowadays he's making the right kick out at the right time, a big factor in him being basically unguardable right now.
But Lebron has a genius level basketball IQ and court vision, maybe the best thing about his game. The scouts were raving about it when he was a sophomore in HS. It's just innate with him.

Yup, only a handful. Most PGs in the league right now don't have his court vision or passing acumen. None have the physical prowess to pull off some of the crazier passes he can make (ie, full court 1 handed pinpoint accurate tap passes like This (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gCx8atwHxXM)). The guy has been in the top 5-10 APG standings pretty much his whole career while scoring 25+ PPG.
If he decided to play traditional PG instead of point forward, he'd easily challenge for the assist title.
But yea I agree Durant isn't on that level yet.
And he never will be. They don't see the court the same way. Some things are just innate. It's like chess or musical talent.

This. Come on guys, if you're too pathetic to recognize and appreciate one of the greatest passers in history, your life must be sad. Regardless of how annoying LeBron homers are. Also, there is valid criticism in that LeBron does over-pass sometimes. He needs to just get it done and bulldoze to the hoop sometimes, but just passes it back.
A handful? C'mon...

Durant will NEVER be as good of a passer or even close to Lebron. Even if somehow magically his shot becomes broken and he's limited to scoring 20ppg, he will never be the same kind of passer. Even if Durant is tearing it up and the better player this season. Book it, Durant never reaches that level of passing ability.

I think you put too much on that yet. I don't like saying things like NEVER. It's like if some karate master kicks your ass and he says, "You're not there yet..." It may literally imply that you will be some day, but I use it more that it's not and we'll see what happens.
Still not buying only a handful tho... Some of those passes were good, but others were not as amazing as they are made out to be.

Pretty cool compilation from last season. Lots of no-looks, left handed passes, lobs, etc. Bron's court vision is top-notch.

Absolutely. Kinda like Durant and Lebron's scoring acumen. KD is just on another plateau, brah.

They're both phenomenal, the best. Lebron's added height makes for a different playmaking style though - a little more bold imo and ''eye-popping'' as Hubie Brown puts it. (also turnover prone as others have mentioned)
KD doesn't have Lebron's innate passing ability & court vision, but the fact his skills have improved each year is encouraging. His height, reach & athleticism give him the potential to be an uncanny playmaker. Not to mention the fact is he on course to be double-teamed pretty much the rest of his career.
Though he might need to work on arm strength to pull off Lebron's laser beam passes.

Shocking that people even question it. Durant will NEVER be the passer that LeBron is. Just like LeBron will NEVER be the shooter that Durant is. There's a big difference between working tirelessly to become very good at something, and being blessed with the natural ability to be great at it.
