I guess I'd have to move him above Rex Grossman but he's still got some work to do before I put him on par with Kordell Stewart. You can't neg me! you can't neg me! nah-nyah-nyah-nyah-nyah! nah-nyah-nyah-nyah-nyah! Go find the football forum.

look at his whole body of work, his elite skills and his mastery of a pro offense .. he's already a champion on top of the records he has and will end up with when he's done .. also he's playing russell wilson .. you'll make an excuse that he beat russell wilson if he wins .. it's not his problem who the qb on the opposing team is .. his job is just to win .. also you implied he won't be top 10 if he loses :facepalm

He won't have to hear from his brother anymore about having one less ring than him. They are brothers, so I have no doubt there are times during family moments when Eli brags about having one more.

I could buy this if we were discussing Marino. But Montana stats were hardly eye-popping even in their time.
Manning surpassed Montana's highest single-season total in his third year in the league. That was all the way back in 2000.

People seem to forget that Montana played in an era when QB's and receivers got ****ing mauled by the defense. The game has softened up significantly since then. You're not allowed to touch QB's or receivers these days.

Football is much more of a team sport than basketball is, first of all.
Second I never said he was GOAT. But he's not even in the top 10 as of right now? Let's hear your top 10.

Man as an die-hard Broncos fan, I just wanna win tomorrow game regardless who wins Super Bowl MVP. If Manning wins it cool it take collective unit special teams, defense, and of course offense to win. Broncos win by 10 points tomorrow. This is huge game for Peyton legacy though he'll either be 2/3 or 1/3 in Super Bowls.

Yea. True. Very true.
And teams ran the ball WAY WAY more.
Montana in today's nfl, would have same stats.
Difference is, he got it done in the clutch.

Montana is the GOAT.
You're just parroting the opinion of old guys who grew up jacking it to Montana. I could have won a couple SB rings playing QB for those teams. Steve Young had a higher winning %, better QB rating and had just as good if not better SB performance than Montana had for the Niners. Montana is over-glorified. Go with the guy who has just 3 first-team All-Pro seasons and 2 MVPs or the guy with 7 first team All-Pro seasons, 5 MVPs, 2,000 more completions, a higher completion %, over 200 more TDs, 25,000 more passing yards and a better QB rating? I guess if you let the overhyped SB affect your opinion to a ridiculous degree, then you could go with the over-glorified Montana.

You couldn't even name anyone on the 1981 49ers other than Dwight Clark, who is only famous for his 1 catch, and you think you could lead that team to a title?
I know it's the chic thing to just say "he had Jerry Rice", but he won the first 2 rings without Rice, and if it was so easy to win with Rice, then why did Young only win 1 ring with him?

Does Portland support Seattle primarily? Which hockey team do you support?
Does Portland support Seattle primarily? Which hockey team do you support?
They support the Seahawks and the Mariners since they don't have teams in those sports. Portland is pretty hardcore about their WHL team, the Portland Winterhawks, rather than focusing on the NHL. I don't think I've heard enough Portland people talk about the NHL to know if there is anything close to a consensus on an NHL team. I have no strong NHL allegiance, but I pseudo root for the Ducks since I have been living about 3 miles away from the Honda Center the last 1.5 years.

The 49ers won titles. The title was not awarded to the quarterback, no matter how desperate your simplistic mind is to believe that.

I see. I only ask because I have friends in Vancouver and they say Vancouver has adopted the Seahawks as their football team. I find that funny because I have family who live in Seattle but would rather follow LA or Anaheim and couldn't care less about Vancouver

Dwight Clark was a fairly good receiver, and isn't just known for "The Catch". He also had Freddie Soloman and one of the GOAT defensive players in Ronnie Lott. No idea who the RB was. He had an awesome defense that year, didn't have that tough of a road to the SB, and they won despite Montana only having like 150 yards and 1 TD in the SB, but hey, let's pretend it was all Joe Montana by himself...
I know it's the chic thing to just say "he had Jerry Rice", but he won the first 2 rings without Rice, and if it was so easy to win with Rice, then why did Young only win 1 ring with him?
Montana wasn't stellar in the first 2 playoff games of their next SB run. He threw 5 interceptions in those 2 games and yet they still won those games fairly easily due to their defense who only gave up 10 total points. That 1984 Niners team had 10 ****ing Pro Bowlers and that's not even counting guys like Clark, Solomon and Craig... The most stacked Niners team was before Rice even entered the league.
As for Young, he didn't have the same opportunities as Montana. Also, he faced those stackedass Cowboys teams in the early to mid '90s, and then injuries and concussions started catching up with him.
