Talking about the NBA as it is today:

"The biggest difference is everybody wants to give each other a hug and a kiss"

"I didn't like you when I played you, now they'll allow somebody to hit your teammate, I don't understand that"

"You can't touch anybody anymore there's no way you can guard a player like that. The offensive player has the advantage"

I don't have any problems if the NBA adapts the FIBA Rules. Melo, Kobe, Lebron, Durant, and even Wade put up good numbers in FIBA Rules.

There was a time teams hired 'enforcers'. Players that tough and wouldn't have any problems doing the dirty work. Mainly in the East to stop MJ, these players were defensive 'specialists' that came in different sizes, more often than not they were front court players.

Malone wasn't the only one, almost every team had at least 2 of these players, willing and ready to take a hard foul/cheap shot.

It was a different era back then.

02-01-2014, 08:40 AM
Someone should've just hired Mike Tyson for one game against the Jazz. All it would've taken was that one "good hard foul" straight to the chin followed by some ear-munching while Karl's lying on the floor, knocked unconscious.

It would've been disgusting, but it would've saved us from decades of Malone's fake tough-guy posturing and lots of stupid internet fanboys fapping to the comments of that retarded cheap-shot artist.

And Michael bought Charles a $20,000 diamond earring. Johnny asked MJ, “what did you do all that for?” Michael responded, “he won’t get in my way the rest of the series, what’s $20,000 to me? Charles thinks we’re great friends. I hate that fat f—.” Jordan dropped 55 in game 4 and Barkley never touched him once.

How do you know it's an 'obvious BS story'? Apparently it's coming from a former Bulls coach and seems to be in line with Jordan's overall M.O. He was insanely competitive and even Van Gundy accused him of conning guys that way- falsely buddying up to them in order to get any advantage on the court. Charles himself has been on record many times about Jordan's competitive nature:

"I think Clyde has always been jealous of Michael (Jordan), to be honest with you," Barkley said on "The Waddle & Silvy Show" on ESPN 1000. "I think he's always wanted to be compared to Michael.

"Hey, we all want to be compared to Michael, but we're not. Clyde was a great player, but there was always that jealousy of Michael. That was one of the incidents and things about the Dream Team, Clyde was trying to play like it was Game 7 against Michael, and that's probably not a good idea. When Michael is driving his kids to school, he thinks it's Game 7."

As much as I hate agreeing with a piece of garbage like Karl Malone, he's right. When limp-wristed sissy slapfights like this pass for "fights" in todays's league, you know its gone creamy soft.

I still don't understand why people want to watch players fight. If Ibaka punched Griffin in that video, he would've gotten suspended for 5-10 games. What's the point? If I wanted to watch people fight, I would just watch boxing or MMA.
