View Full Version : Out of the top 6 prospects, who is most likely to be a bust?
Joel Embiid 7'0 C
Andrew Wiggins 6'8 SF
Jabari Parker 6'8 SF/PF
Julius Randle 6'9 PF
Dante Exum 6'6 PG/SG
Marcus Smart 6'4 PG
I'm gonna go with Julius Randle. We've already seen how an undersized power forward works out in the NBA (Anthony Bennett). He won't be able to dominate with physical play like in college.
I can also see Andrew Wiggins turning out to be a more athletic version of Josh Howard - and that's it.
I would pick Parker or Embiid first, depending on team needs.
I don't know as much about Exum and Smart.

Marcus doesn't seem like a smart choice to pick.

Smart has a motor of an elite slasher, he just needs to be more of a efficent scorer. Right now he's Oladipo with better passing.

He can also defend 1-4 in college (probably 1-3 in the pros).
I think Randle is the most likely bust.

Well so far from the look of this Smart isn't expected to do a whole lot in the NBA. Which wouldn't really make him a bust.
What exactly is his expected output, his ceiling? Is he supposed to be a franchise player? Perennial All-Star?

Its Exum. The OP even wrote his name how do you misspell it?

Smat is a good defender, but the fact he's 3 inches shorter then the average SF will give him trouble. Plus, the NBA's SFs are extremely skilled.
Smart will come into the league as a better Oladipo, but has the potential to be the PG version of Wade.

I'm bad at speed typing. :D
Thanks for correction.
Embiid, cause he was born in Africa.

Wiggins just shot 2/12 today from the field. He's the next Shabazz Muhammad, imo. Both super hyped in high school. Shabazz was hyped just as much and look where he is

People really think Smart will bust? I've mostly heard good things about him, especially defensively.

I'm afraid that Parker will end up being like Even Turner. A solid all around player but not a great athlete and doesn't do one thing particularily well.

Who was Shabazz Muhammad before Shabazz Muhammad?
Wiggins has actually been playing very well.

Smart or Embiid. Exum probably has the least bust potential.

Embiid is dominating the NCAA D1. Exum (not denying his extreme talent) plays in Australia. I don't follow.

Wiggins. Fouled out today in a loss to Texas with only 7 points.. He just constantly has games where he scores like -5 points. Today he was jus shooting wide open bricks.
He honestly reminds me of a longer Iman shumpert..
And if any of you watch Kentucky play... You would know that if weren't for Randle, they would probably be a bubble team to make the tourney.
He has "star" written all over him and if magic don't draft Embiid #1 then I'm almost certain now id take randle over Parker

Having watched Exum up close multiple times I know this kid has the talent and drive to make it. A great 'anti-bust' attitude as well, very level headed I can't see any of the pressure or expectation getting to him.

How 'up close' did you watch him? Sounds like you gave him an MRI on his brain.

the one from Canada. seems like homeland of the busts to me.
edit: imagine if the Cavs get the #1 pick again and they draft Wiggins and then he turns out to be a bust. will Cleveland hate Canada?

I just can't see Embiid being a bust whatsoever unless he has injury issues like many bigs have had *knocks on wood*

Easily Randle. Don't think his post game will translate to the NBA against longer defenders.

Out of top 6 prospects, he is the only one I dont see being a bust in any scenario. Kid has lot of potential, and I love his attitude. He is a real deal.

I'm expecting big things from Wiggins, Embiid, Exum.
I think Jabari will be better than Randle and Smart, but more's expected of him, so he'll probably be the biggest disappointment relative to current hype. I do think Randle will be the worst pro, though.
