View Full Version : Current Curry vs MVP Drose
Who do you got?
Stephen Curry:
24.5ppg on 45% FG, 41% 3FG, 86% FT, 59% TS, 4.5rpg, 9.0apg, 1.8spg, .2bpg, 4.1 TO/gm
Derrick Rose:
25.0ppg on 45% FG, 33% 3FG, 86% FT, 55% TS, 4.1rpg, 7.7apg, 1.0spg, .6bpg, 3.4 TO/gm
*despite listing them at the same percentages, Curry is higher than Rose by a little in FG% and FT%.

I will take MVP Rose
D Rose had the number one team in the NBA.

:biggums:
Anyway, Rose's MVP season. People really decided that they will hate on that season, haven't they?

The Warriors play up tempo and Steph has the green light to shoot anything anywhere. The Bulls didn't play that run and gun type of offensive game plan the Warriors do. Stop it dude :hammerhead: Stop looking at the numbers and watch the game.

rose but its close. Currys shooting numbers are impressive as are his APG but when u consider he doesnt take it to the rim very often those Turnovers are a bit hight imo.
and they are only 7th seed.
rose takes this with a small margin( which shows how ridiculous it was for bron to not win MVP that year considering hes twice as good as current Curry)

you made this thread last week and it's as pointless as it is now
stop watching box scores
Rose was leading a team to the first seed in his conference with less talent arou him..while Curry..

Rose. Klay Thompson and David Lee are better offensive players than anyone Rose had. Klay at the 2 for CHI would give him soo much more room to do his thing, damn.
Rose led an injury-riddled team to the No.1 seed, played very well in the PO before facing Miami (with an ankle sprain!!) and was clutch as hell, if you needed to, you could always count on him to spark a comeback in 2011.
Dwight/Rose are the 2011 MVPs imo. LeBron shouldn't have gotten it because Wade was pretty much just as good.

led his team? they look like they will make the playoffs two years in a row without him.

Did I really make this thread last week? Please link it to me, I have no recollection of it. Maybe I'm getting an early onset of alzheimers.
Pls respond. I'm scared.

Thought this was pretty interesting. Curry pretty much owns Rose statistically whenever they meet. It's actually a huge discrepancy.
Curry pretty much lit him up whenever they met and effectively contained Rose scoring-wise in all but one meeting. Curry has never had a good defensive team around him until now. I wonder what excuse Rose defenders will come up with now?

Just like the Thunder without Westbrook is still one of the best teams in the league. I really hate how Westbrook fans use last years' Thunder playoff exit as proof for Westbrook's talent.
NO ONE thinks Westbrook isn't one of the best players in the league, he's just not as good as you guys think he is.
P.S.- I'm bringing up Westbrook in this thead because of imdaman99.
I hype Steph Curry cuz he's underrated, especially as a defender. I bash Westbrook because it's idiotic how propped up he is.
I made this thread because I actually think MVP Rose and Curry are on the same level.

That is completely irrelevant in the East because the margin between the top seeds and the bottom seeds in the East is gigantic. Huge difference between a team on pace for a 41 win season and a team that won 62.

I think a better question is how did DJ Augustin rot on the Pacers bench, then get waived by the Raptors?

Curry and it's an insult to even ask like its a question.
And don't be fooled by them both having a 45% FG%. When you account for 3 point shooting, his eFG% is actually 54.5%. Roses was 48.5.
Rose was to the Bulls what Wilson is to Seattle. The defense is the real MVP.

Really?

His TS% has always been right around league average or worse. He has never averaged 8rpg or 9apg in any season.
Or, are you picking/choosing games to average out?

Curry vs Westrook...
I thought Westbrook was supposed to be some kind of defensive GOD?
Why is Curry averaging more ppg, FG%, 3FG%, etc against Westbrook?
Oh right, cuz Westbrook is overrated in everything he does.
Curry has better stats. It's undeniable. However Rose led his team to a 60 win season.

MVP Rose was legit, had the best record. Winning > Scoring, so Rose for me.

The Bulls without Rose were a 45 win team in 2013. If you added Stephen Curry to that squad, it's not out of the question that he could lead them to a 60 win season as well considering what he brings to the table.

:lol, Rose clearly outplayed him in two of the five games and they won those games. In one of the other games Rose had just beat the Lakers on Christmas day with a last second shot on Christmas Day and played GS the very next day as Rose game was obviously off. Its very close to calling it even but it definitely isn't Curry owning him. The only game I can recall between them Monty was guarding Rose, not Curry.
To be honest Curry wasn't much of a player and I couldn't see Rose getting up to play him even though they were the same age. Steph wasn't close to being a leader of his team, didn't do crap in the playoffs and had no defense in sight when they met.
Curry pretty much lit him up whenever they met and effectively contained Rose scoring-wise in all but one meeting. Curry has never had a good defensive team around him until now. I wonder what excuse Rose defenders will come up with now?
Curry can't guard a dribble penetrator. This is why Kyrie, who is a lot slower than Rose, acts like Curry is even in front of him. Chris Paul (a softer penetrator than Rose) does the same thing to Curry. Curry defense is close to non existence. So whatever Rose's problems were, it wasn't Curry, and you can dream on with that non-sense.
Curry has proven he can get hot as a shooter and go crazy for a series but he's closer to Kyrie than he is to Rose and Paul.

I forgot to add Tony Parker to the mix of perpetrators that have their way with Curry, well at least since Curry has been on the map. Their are only three real PG penetrators and all three have their way with Curry. Curry has only outplayed one PG in a playoff series and he was outplayed by one that is past his prime.
Curry is good but he doesn't deserve to be on the next level yet. If his shot is off, and it was off the majority of his last series, he doesn't know how to be effective. He has to come up like the others have come up.
