Actually there is some truth to that, KD has a very high dribble where he will sometimes need to wrap it under (hand under the ball) to control it or palm it, you are allowed to take it sideways but not under and you never know when a player palms it unless its obvious, its a very tricky thing to officiate.

How is he irrelevant, exactly? He's been a real solid role player for a decade. Many teams would be happy to have him on their team.

Not hard in my book. If a player puts his hand under the ball after the bounce just to follow the motion, let's say, I can live with it but when he has his hand under the ball and actually brings it up to better control it while continuing his dribble and changing directions, they should be called for the violation (even nowadays), and that's what KD does, a lot.
