He is right. Floppers throughout history have always tried to gain an advantage for their team by faking or exaggerating contact, notably under the boards on loose ball fouls. But the NBA now is actively promoting this type of play with the way they've chosen to call the game. All that fining floppers nonsense is little more than a PR move.

it does matter. lebron rarely decides the outcome of a game with flopping and nearly always does it when he didnt get clear calls he should get.

Players have always exaggerated contact to "sell" a foul. This new era of completely faking contact is ridiculous though.

Problem is that players become reliant on it to the point of their game. All Harden does is shoot threes or bump into defenders/flop to get calls. Can you imagine if MJ just did that instead of developing a legitimate game?

It's not always easy to tell when someone flops or not but for the blatant ones, it should be like techs. You blatantly flop enough times a season and get a suspension. Money is nothing to these players, so hit the where it hurts.
