So this year marks 20 years since the release of Nas' debut album, Illmatic. It is universally regarded as one of the best hip hop albums ever and some even cite it as the greatest album in hip hop history.

It will be released on April 15th and will be a double disc. The first disc will be the original album while the second contains remixes, demos and freestyles. He also plans to do a US tour where he will rap the whole album.

Is anyone planning on getting this? Is anyone planning on seeing him on tour? Has anyone already seen him live?

I saw him live on his Life is Good tour last March. He did the whole Illmatic album, some of Stillmatic and a few songs off other albums in addition to Life is Good, very good show.

I already got this for free. So why would I pay for the same album?

Nas must be going broke or something.

He had an album in 2012. The reason he's doing this is because its a landmark album. He did it for the 10th anniversary too

Is he going to do it for the 25th Anniversary too? :oldlol: He already did it for the 10th and remastered the album and put other tracks on the second disc. Whatever though, it's his music. He's been successful in the game for a long time.

The album is great but how many times does he plan on putting it out.

Yeah I forgot about that album in 2012. He should be working on new stuff imo

I thought this was going to be a nas vs the xx mashup lol, kind of like biggie vs xx, which was dope

Same, I got pretty excited but then ended up disappointed. :(
