View Full Version : Most Hardware (current players)

Rings, MVPs and FMVPs. Each count as 1 piece of hardware.

I believe this is the top 2.

1. Duncan - 9 pieces of hardware
2. Kobe/LeBron - 8 pieces of hardware

Who are some others? Do you agree with my hardware list, or do you believe things like scoring titles and DPOY should be added?

D-Fish has 5 (5 championships)
Wade and Tony Parker both have 4 (3 rings, 1 FMVP)
KG has 3 (1 ring, 1 MVP, 1 DPOY)
Ginobili and Ray Allen both have 3 (3 rings)

I can't think of anyone else with 3 or more

FMVPs are subjective. Did Parker really deserve the FMVP over Duncan in 07? Parker went up against a rookie PG and exploited him. Kobe averaged 27 ppg on very high efficiency in 2002 Finals, because he didn't win the FMVP his title only matters as much as Wade's in 2012 or 2013? You can't compare titles without looking at context.

Yeah but Roy/6th Man/MIP has no relevance when discussing all time greats...

It's really only: MVP's/Finals MVP's, Championships with added context (team achievement), and possibly Scoring Title/DPOY...

All NBA Team/All defensive Team is nice, AS Selections are pretty sweet, and all star records/game itself are 100% useless, damn exhibition game. Like ASG MVP, Slam Dunk Champion, etc. that kinda stuff.

Duncan has 10 pieces of hardware. You randomly decided '99 doesn't count, so that takes away his ring and FMVP. That leaves him with 8 pieces or hardware. Why do you have him at 6?
