Why do people think Jimmy Fallon is funny?
he could be the unfunniest man alive and he'd still be more amusing than jay leno, last gasp of the baby boomers and reader's digest.
i don't know how funny jimmy fallon is, but he's at least hip, a good dancer, decent comedic actor, etc.

So good. They're all good! Especially Young and Jim Morrison. Almost pissed at the Bob Seger one as well.

I've heard Jay Leno was one of the best stand-ups of his time (late 70s, early 80s).
It's hard to envision him saying anything remotely funny, but that's the rumor.

Seinfeld just did an episode of his web series (Comedians in a Car Getting Coffee) with Leno and Seinfeld claimed in the video that Leno is one of the best stand-ups he has ever seen.

Yeah, I actually heard Seinfeld talking about him on Howard Stern. He said basically the same thing... he's the best stand-up he had ever seen.
But...

He blows Leno out of the water and is really creative and solid at impressionsbut I could actually give two ****s what you think, as could the rest of the site. So why don't you move to Miami even though you probably live in Quebec and 69 all of the other LBJ/Heat bandwagon dickriders, ten-four roger roger?

IIRC leno was actually quite profane when he was a young standup guy. not sure if i'm mis-rememberating that, tho.

I liked the joke about interview the neighbors of criminals actually. Those situations are always really hard for stand-ups anyway tho because of the constraints on material and lack of time.

I don't give a shit about Leno and if you "could actually give two f*cks" about what I think, that means you give a f*ck about what I think, idiot. Also, you should retake the geography class you failed in high school because California is nowhere near Quebec.

Meaning, "I could give two f*cks (but I don't)" Not too hard to understand.
Move to Miami though seriously. You're probably born in raised though. True fan.

No, saying you "could give two f*cks" implies you have some to give. If you "couldn't give two f*cks" that means you have none to give. Is it really that hard to comprehend? :oldlol:

I never watch his show but figured I would tonight being the last one and all. Good lord, this is cringeworthy. And it's his last show, you'd think they'd come up with their best stuff for it. How'd this turd win ratings battles?

The program itself has never been very good IMO. I think a big part of its success is that its just easy to fall asleep to. I dont think most people sit and watch the whole thing every night. But tons of older people just put it on and fall asleep. Plus there was a lot carry-over from fans of The Tonight Show as an institution.
That being said, Leno is a legitimately funny guy. Even tho, granted, his program sucks.

It sucks that Kevin Eubanks couldn't even attend his very likely last show because of schedule conflicts.
The thing is, NBC has lost its late night talk show slot ratings to ABC's Kimmel (who covers younger audiences) and CBS' Letterman (who covers the olders) probably because of that 2010 controversy among other factors and couldn't recover.
But Fallon without his late night shticks might not work so well as NBC hope. We will see.

No he didn't. He was pushed up the time slot to 10PM by NBC, wishing to draw late night ratings back. It utterly failed. So, NBC moved him back to the original time slot while kicking Conan O'Brien out of there.

Jerry Seinfeld saying Leno is the funniest stand up comedien isn't exactly a great endorsement. Seinfeld is terrible at stand up. Seinfeld was a great show but that was because Larry David was the true comic genius behind it. Just look at their post Seinfeld careers and that shows you who was the real creative force behind that show. When Larry left, Seinfeld (the tv show) sucked.
On the thread toopic, Leno sucks and does Fallon

seems like leno been doing the tonight show for way longer than 20 yrs.

The only reason the outdoor skits were necessary on the Tonight Show was because it allowed other people to be funny (through stupidity) while Jay wasn't on camera. Fallon doesn't rely on being off camera to be entertaining.
I like Fallon more because he tries to actually have fun on the show. Neither show is truly funny, but Fallon's is fun.
yes, but that was the later years........first 10 years jay was funny and some fun outdoor stuff too...........like conan was fun his first 10 years, with the driving desk and triumph the dog and stuff.......
good old days, would record at night, watch next day........no youtube, just VCR.........terrible school days doe, but that

Both Leno and Fallon are safe comics. They don't have any edgy or controversial styles or material that may offend anyone, that's why they're perfect for Late Night shows. They appeal to the easily frightened and overly sensitive Middle America.

I'll always be a Letterman fan, but I like Fallon as well - great impressionist.
This one always gets me:
