The one who carried his team to three straight trips to the finals and won two rings and FMVPs. Or are we saying Pau and Lebron are equals, talent-wise?

Kobe, I think 09 wade is probably a better comparison

Yea I was going to say this, its a little unfair to Wade to use the season where Bron came in

2011 is the last year of wade's prime but you have to give it to kobe because despite the whole snitch/rape/selfish chucking thing he was still a phenomenal basketball player

09 wade - 1st round exit loser
09 kobe - ring

09 wade - 1st round exit loser
09 kobe - ring

09 Wade on that Lakers team would beat the 08 Celtics, win 09 and 10.

Kirby lost against the Celtics and was bailed out in 2010 in game 7.

if they swapped supporting casts wade would've had a good chance at winning aswell
lets stick to what happened in real life ya?

A better chance than Kirby that is for sure.

I say 09 Wade with that supporting cast wins 3 rings instead of 2 and does not have to be bailed out in game 7. What say you?

Kobe was playing brilliantly in those 3 years

**** out of here. Couldn't even dominate the Atlanta Hawks. And Wade has never been at the level that Kobe was in the 09 & 10 WCFs, two series the Lakers barely won with Kobe yet somehow Wade would have done what Kobe did? No.

06 wade - ring
06 kobe - first round exit loser, chokes away 3-1 series lead

3rd year wade >> prime kobe

Now compare Wade and Kobe for the next few seasons before Wade gave his team to Lebron.

Yet he lost the series and only got two more rings as Lebron's sidekick. Funny how that worked out.

Wade in 2005 2nd Round vs Wizards
Wade in 2006 2nd Round vs Nets
Wade in 2006 ECF vs Pistons
Wade in 2006 NBA Finals vs Dallas
Wade in 2010 First Round vs Boston
Wade in 2011 2nd Round vs Boston
Wade in 2011 NBA Finals vs Dallas
Hell, even Wade in 2012 2nd round vs Pacers on 1 knee. All comparable series to those 2 you named and some even better. Literally 0 argument vs the 2006 NBA Finals series.

OP, whats with your odd fascination with all things kobe? you were still in diapers when the lakers were 3peating, and too young to comprehend anything beyond flashy looking dunks when kobe was hitting his peak.

stick to topics you know about, like hiding what you look at on amazon from your dad.

Typical Heat fan picking and choosing to serve an agenda.

Wade was 27 and in his absolute peak that year. How is fair to use that against Kobe when Kobe in 2008 was almost 30, at the start of his decline? 27 year old Kobe who averaged 35-5-5 would've taken out those Celtics as well.

you can't be serious, comparing 2nd round series, series where Wade lost in 5, series where his stats don't even meet the box score test compared to Kobe's 09 & 10 WCF..

Copied from the other thread...

Fair Comparison

2008 Kobe
28/6/5 on 58TS in the Regular Season
30/6/6 on 58TS in the Playoffs
.877 MVP Shares
Consensus Best player in the game

2011 Wade
26/6/5 on 58TS in the Regular Season
25/7/4 on 57TS in the Playoffs
.020 MVP Shares
Not even close to consensus best player

Kobe has Wade beat across the board... with playoffs not being that close. Wade's worst series being the ECF was worse than Kobe's worst series being the Finals. He averaged 18/4/4 on a miserable TS while being guarded in single coverage by Keith Bogans and Ronnie Brewer for christs sake. Kobe's team wouldve been out of the playoffs had he played like that in any round. Wades won in 5 games.

Kobe's overall playoff numbers are clearly better.. and he was considered the best in the game during the regular season.

This doesnt even account for the fact that Kobe saw much more defensive attention than Wade did.. was doubled more often and was the primary target for defenses, while oposition for Miami were going after Lebron and leaving Wade on islands with Keith Bogans and Jason Kidd during the playoffs. Better numbers in the face of more attention for Kobe.

Overall, 08 Kobe was a MONSTER. Its peak Kobe at the height of his playmaking/scoring/defending/leadership..

11 Wade up until the Finals was a borderline top 5 player in the league and he was even voted behind 2011 Kobe.. who was much much worse than 08.

And it is an absolute fallacy to compare the 11 Mavs defense to the 08 Celtics defense especially with them focusing on Bran more than Wade while the C's SWARMED Kobe.

Wade never lost in the 2nd round series in his career except for his rookie year :lol . A playoffs series is a playoff series, and you highlighted the 06 ECF vs Pistons? Wade in those conference finals was just as good as Kobe in the 2 WCF mentioned if not better.
